Playing PR with Creative cards and KX audio drivers

So, is anyone else playing PR with a creative sound card, but with the KX audio drivers instead of the ones by creative?

I've been using the KX drivers for a long while now due to their flexibility (like being able to reroute channels as needed). I use them with my Audigy 2 Platinum Pro. They provide the flexibility I need for my audio works, a level not provided by creative.

That being said, It would be nice for creative to provide a professional series of drivers. One without all the media players and stuff, but with full low level configuration.

To be honest, I only understand half of what the KX audio drivers can do and how they can be customized. Maybe someone else is using those drivers and might have some hints on how to improve the in-game sound experience.

I have a creative audigy 2 and the latest drivers from their website.

What sucks is I have no way to test the 5.1 surround. My REALTEK mobo sound has a little bee that as I move it around the screen, it makes a buzzing noise in the proper positioned speaker.

So I setup my 5.1 with Audigy 2 and just sort of assume it's done correctly. They really piss me off with their shoddy software. How do I test if my surround sound is setup correctly with Audigy 2?

The latest version is available on their forums:

The screenshots immediately gives you an idea how these drivers differ from those from creative:

I have the same card and can check the 5.1 performance either with the diagnostics tab or check speaker tab via the surround mixer that came with the card. If you don't have the creative icon located on your taskbar for ease of access go to your creative folder in program files.

Btw kx drivers are powerful with the right settings and plug-ins, although fairly hard to work with if you don't have more than basic understanding of audio system process'. Check the dialog noir-columbia and I had a few months ago regarding kx drivers:

I no longer have the CD with those tools. Can you give me the exact name of that application so I can search the internet for it? I have the drivers, just not the applications and diagnostics.

Well its not so much listed as an application as a sub folder (SBAudigy2zs) in my Creative folder.

I've looked at the Creative site and found a bunch of downloads under the "application" heading and since you have the drivers that seems to be the only requirements to updating your folder. Here's the link: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ click SoundBlaster/Audigy/your version/then click the next button/then file type, choose applications/then hit go. there's a Creative speaker settings version 1.oo.56 download (#20) I also see a Surround mixer driver update (#12) as well as the Audio headquarters (#16). those last 2 seem to require AUD_EAX4DRV_031031.exe driver. Probably the latest.
