Tone down the Laser-tracers?

Tracers were a topic long-ago but I couldn't find a good thread to revive it.

Eggman you stated that its much easier to find badguys IRL than it is in PR due to having better senses\fidelity etc...and this was why you wanted to keep the tracers present. I can see your point but have to disagree here.

1-In PR guys stickout like sore-thumbs due to graphics stuff
2-The sounds of gunfire dont reflect off of buildings etc...with my x-fi and 5.1 I can find guys INCREDIBLY easy due to sound...much better than IRL
3-Little cover on many maps
4-Tracers in PR aren't realistic

If we can't remove tracers would it be possible to at least tone down their colors or make them a little more transparent? Heh, you can't say they aren't a little to Starwars-y :)

Sorry if I'm beating a deadhorse here.

Yeah the footsteps are a little loud on albasrah when i am on top of a building and i start searching for a guy two buildings down because i heard him couging. But as for the cover, use transports to get through open ground. Or just play mesita or bi ming over and over :-P .

I find the tracers from everything but the machine guns a bit annoying, since I seriously doubt a rifleman would give up a few extra rounds in his mag to show the enemy where he is, but I like it at the same time when I am on the receiving end of said bullets and tracers.

Considering that:
1. Tracers aren't lasers.
2. Tracer round are realistic. (When they aren't lasers)
3. You probably shouldn't be seeing so many.

I don't think that this is much of a problem. :)

A tracer round IS a bullet. It will kill you.

Unless it's a LASER tracer. Then you're good.

I know tracers are real and aren't the worst thing in the world for PR. They just look like Giant lazers in green and red. It'd be nice if their colors were turned down. I'm fine having them in night maps...excellent; But I highly doubt you ever see them in brilliant day light fights like we have. If its as easy as editing their color scheme, I think it'd be nice. Not that big of a deal...the LMG is already has a "slight" disadvantage though and unrealistic tracers aren't helping it.

As egg has said before, in real life there are many other factors which would allow you to work out the direction of shots so we need tracers in rifles to do that.

What's with the green tracers? I've always wanted to know and this seems like the most appropriate place to ask.

Red tracer are the standard utilized by NATO Forces while green tracers are used by former Soviet Bloc Countries.
