A-10 Air to ground rockets "Laser-guided"?

Alright... the new A-10 has a ****-load of munitions... ranging from your run of the mill bombs to rocket pods to the chain gun...

There are the laser-guided rockets... how are these used correctly?

you load them, they say armed and you see a cross hair... you fire with a target lined up... the rocket goes directly into the ground 100 yards in front of the target... what am i missing? Do you need someone with a spot on the target?? is there a hidden laser designator someone needs to be using?

~thanks for the info...

You need to lock on to a tank/vehicle producing a strong "heat" signal. Although obviously the BF2 engine doesn't lock onto just heat.

Ok... how long do you have to paint the target, let's say, a tank for it to get a lock??

er, there should be a box. And then there will be some text on the HUD saying "target locked" or something. Usually, i just put the crosshair right on the target, wait a second, and then fire.

It should say "Shoot" when a target has been locked.

There is no 'painting' targets in PR. First you get a lock with the A-10 Maverick ATGM and when the "Shoot" message and a tone (I think) comes up/sound then fire.

Alright... I will give a try this evening...

What targets will it obtain a lock on? Just armor?

Should be, only manned armour though.

I just get a little box, no lock tone, no shoot message, just a little box, I put the crosshair in the box and fire. Hits almost all the time. :-)

It just screams "Fox one, Fox one", no text. Can we get this fixed :?

real pilots don't need lock ons.

Best tactic? Fly with the bomb hud selection and go for cannon kills. Easiest way to identify and eliminate enemy.

The best Thing i do for when i fly the A-10 is to make sure that im in the pilot squad.

And never spam with "ok im landing guys" But tell the F16 where the mig is.

Cus unless your "uber" you cant take down a mig without taking extreme damage.

Well, I guess that they didn't need them back in WWII...but the bombing style back then would result in half of Kashan being wiped out when a squad wanted some air-support to take down a tank. If they hit Kashan that is.

And the tank will most likely come out unscratched :P

I don't have any problems with them. Keep the box in view for a second and you will hear yourself say "I'm locked on" or something.

You get a box over the target, then when you hear the scream in-game "fox one, fox one" or "I got lock on him", fire.
