It's amazing how many guys STILL dont have VOIP. Sure you dont want to talk much, fine but at least get one so you can talk sometimes. It sucks being in a squad where a couple of guys dont have it...sure they can type but its just not as good. Also seems like guys with VOIP are more accountable being that you are talking to them directly. Decent squadies, all with VOIP are MUCH better in action...especially when it gets tense.

Also, the #1 crapper...SL without VOIP??? Stupid...

Yeah, I suggest we start a pool. Everybody pays 10$, then those without a mike has to send in a request and then we donate the mic and send it by postage.

many players without mic cause they come from vBF2, this is my experience (I bought mic for PR).
please buy a 10$/$ mic or a 300 $/$ uberpro headset with a fridge for your beer

Maybe they're ashamed of their voices? I imagine all people without a mic to sound like Alvin from the chipmunks.

I know some people from this forum sound like chipmunks, but I won't name them.

I -know- that I sound weird. But I also know that people would rather have someone who sounds weird say "tank behind you, get cover!" than being blown up.

In response to "what is VIOP?" Its 'VOIP' and it stands for "Voice Over Internet Protocol"

And yes I agree, for those who are REALLY cheap, you can take a set of earbud headphones and plug them into your 'Mic In' jack and you have a chepo mic (make sure you turn your mic volume up all the way). I wouldn't do it with anything larger (like a big pair of headphones as opposed to a set of earbuds) because it requires pretty much yelling to be heard, but in a pinch it can work. I have a USB mic and would highly recommend one. But (if your cheap )you can obtain a set of earbuds for next to nothing (or sometimes, FREE) and thats better than nothing.

i still have and sometimes use the mic i bought when R6: Rogue Spear came out... it cost me $0.50. lol.

I agree on the mic, but on the 10$ mic?? no! hehe I really prefer not hearing the guy, than barely hearing him in a mix of distorsion and crappy sounds....Sometimes it really gets you wondering "how crappy can a mic be?" (I bought the cheapest i could find (around 20$) and I never have problems.....)

I bought the Fatal1ty uber pro headset... Not that pro tbh but it's pretty good like

The game is actually A LOT more fun with a mic. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but once you get a mic you'll never go back. You'll enjoy yourself a lot more if you have one.

Whats all this VIOP stuff? I dont get it...VOIP rocks though! 10$ mic ftw!


BTW what do you guys have your mic Threshold setting at in BF2?

A microphone is really just an inverted loudspeaker, so you could build one out of an old pair of headphones. Just reverse the polarity, plug it in, and apply gain as necessary. As far as quality goes you'll just be using it for speech, so don't expect too much out of it.

I got my mic at the dollarstore for, yes you guessed it, one dollar. It's nothing fancy, but hey, I'm not a fancy guy. It suits my needs just fine.

I think I am going to need headphones for some of the few people that do have mic's. I can hardly/barely hear them over their 10$ mic's. Maybe some of them are forgetting about the "Mic Boost" in windows volume controls.
