I can honestly say that i never knew much about the rank system for the officers, there are a lot of officer cadets here, however there are a couple officers with the 3 "diamonds" as i called them but then later found out they are called, "pips"...am i correct here guys? Then after feeling like a complete tool i did some research and studied the british military rank system haha. Last night my buddy and I played basketball with a couple of them, well it was 2 on 2 and my buddy and i are really good so we put them to shame, but then they brought the soccer ball out and it was all over for us ahaha, they were damn good..wow...great group of guys

Well, afaik , they are either Crowns or Stars (the later known as 'pips') but its just a nickname, albeit one which is almost universally used.

The stars come from the badge of different knight orders. Think its the Queen's household troops that have different ones.

(This comes from a military history researcher at my uni, apologies for any inaccuracies, i'm sure there are better qualified guys around here to answer this.)

lol I went to a barbecue once,it was a small one with just 6-10 people. Then the Brits came and swarmed over the place, took all the beer and started drinking.
It was crazy....

Let's hope the British Army are less violent than British tourists. I'm gonna optimistically say they're not.

No matter how many of them there are, I am sure that you still outnumber them in the number of teeth you have.

Been to Canada now on 2 tours, 6 months each, and it was great.

Suffield aint a bad camp, and Medicine Hat is ok for a beer or two ;-)
