Am I missing something?

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong here... because I know I might be... but why did they remove the indicator that says who you killed?

I think I understand the concept... you shouldn't see who you killed from a great distance, forcing you to fire up the target a little more just incase.

I do agree with that, but it makes certain situations a little confusing, particularly TKs. If someone teamkills me, I want them to know that they team killed me, otherwise they could come back and keep blasting the same area.

By the way, I'm not referring to the indicator that says:
Artnez [Steel Toe Boot] BlakeJr

I'm referring to the one that says:

You killed BlakeJr

Perhaps a special TK message can be introduced: "You TeamKilled BlakeJr you will suffer in Hell for that!"

Since basically everyone kills me with ease that could be MY revenge to have my own personal message show up every time I die! Damn good idea... Thanks Artnez!

Seriously though, I wonder if a special TK message COULD be put into the game without wreaking havoc with the rest of the messagesystem.
Then again, If you can't identify your target, don't shoot.

I think its cool without both of em. There's enough clutter on the screen as it is.

Plus if you think realistically, if someone on your own team shot you IRL, you wouldnt know who it was.. Well, your spirit may come back and see who did it, but thats a different issue... :?

It works out perfectly too with the way they have the Nametags setup. Enemies cannot be seen and friendlies can.

Not always, I recall one time I spawned right beside a team mate and he freaked out and let me have a box of M249 ammo.... Right in the face...

He apologised afterwards though. ;)

I'm kind of confused as to how you have only just discovered this now?

I think it's great. It eliminates most aspects of "hahaha I pwned u noob" that goes along with virtually all FPS's. I see what you mean about the TK thing though. Perhaps TK's only could be displayed?

I miss being able to see who I kill... I would settle for this though:

Kill: Bring back the "You killed TomatoUnderPants". You see it, but no one else does. It does not clutter the screen.

TK: Globally transmitted for everyone to see just like the old messages... We need this to find out who TKed who, if there is a guy that is consistently teamkilling and if that guy should be voted out.

Problem is, I'm pretty sure its one of those on or off type things. I dont think there is coding attached to the deaths display that can decipher who sees what and such...I could be wrong, but like i said, im pretty sure thats how it is..

I don't know for sure, but I think you're right. Just goes to show how unmoddable this engine is (thanks EA & DICE).

I think the only thing you should happen is if you tk you get a min spawn wait. The only thing that will make you think before you thing before you shoot is being punished.

the problem with not seeing who TKs can be fixed by seeing who has negative scores, and responsible vote kicking. i dont want to see one of those 'auto kick for negative points' things that some servers have because that could really discourage new players "i cant tell who's who!!" but responsible vote kicking is the way to go, if you keep dying for a reason you cant figure out, check the scoreboard and when you see that 'TK4lyphe' has a solid score of -35 you can get a votekick going and show everyone how much fun he's having while you put your foot through your comp cause you cant see how youre dying right off of a spawn.

What I would like to see as far as name tag go is, you should be able to see any name tag that are more than a few years away.

I don't think games will be able to support such view distance for the next... say... 3 gazillion years.

haha, if you meant yards, im all for it, thats what FH is like, really makes you think and look at the mini map before you decide to light into someone.

Absolutley not! The best thing about this mod is the fact that they got rid of the "you killed supan00b" messages. I've survived plenty of times after someone though they killed me only to get back a shot. I RL you rarely know the effects of your fire unless you are close up. Bringing the messages back means I find another realism mod.
