Hi all
I have installed bf2 1.41 and then pr latest version, pr boots into bf2 fine, but when I go to multiplayer or singleplayer, the programs just quits back to windows, no error message at all.
I have probably done something wrong, so please feel free to tell me where.

First of all run PR in widowed mode.
Do this:
'Some guy in Blue' wrote:right click the PR shortcut and look at the command line properties and change the fullscreen line to 0
should look like this
+menu 1 +fullscreen 0
Then run PR again and take note of any errormessage you get.

I once had the a similar problem with BF2. The cause was that I, somehow, had an incorrect resolution set from within BF2, and when I tried to launch the game, it wouldn't run.
If you believe this is the cause of the problem (switched monitors or something?) then try these steps
Go to: My Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles -> Default -> Video.con
Open the Video.con file in notepad and look for a line similar to this one:
Code: Select all
VideoSettings.setResolution 1400x1050@60Hz
and following the same format, type a lower resolution like 1024x768@60Hz and try to launch the game again.
If it runs, then there's a chance that you may have to do this change in every other profile (0001, 0002, 000x, etc..) in the same file.

Thanks for your replies.
I dont believe its a problem with bf2, as that plays fine, all options within bf2 are ok, until i attempt to view single or multiplayer then it drops out.
looks at the options you forwarded, but gave no better result.
help, help, help

You DO get into the main menu of PR right?
You see the BSS and PR boot screens and then get to the login menu?
You can also log in and get to the main menu?
This far all works as it should, is that right?
You wouldn't happen to still have an old version of PR installed?
thanks

I can view everything but Multiplayer and singleplayer, as soon as I select these option it drops out to windows with no error message.
Damn, I really want to play this mod, someone please help.

Have you tried running it in windowed mode like Ghostrider explained? Does it give you any error message then?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game in this order (dont know which order you followed when you installed)
- Uninstall
- Any and Every version of PR via Control Pannel Add/Remove Programs
- Battlefield 2
- If asked to delete profiles, do so. You can retrieve them when you reinstall by using the account name and password.
- Re-Install
- Battlefield 2
- Patch 1.41 Full
- PR v0.6 Client (about 1.85GBs just in case)
- Try running again.
When you continue to post about problems please provide more information. What did you do (particular order, etc..) and that kind of stuff. If you're given troubleshooting steps, follow them to the letter, and let us know if it worked or not.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all in the order provided above.
I then run it in windowed mode, but sadly the same thing happens without any error window or explaination.
I am lost

It sounds to (me) like a network problem.
Try using a different NIC (disable the 1 u have)
Try different drivers for ur NIC as well.

give us some info about your system. like what graphic card your using or how much RAM you have. oh and are you using the Bf2 dvd or Cd to get in the game or you are using some sort of crack so that you dont have to use the DVD or Cd??! cause before i had the same prob and it was because i was using a crapy crack and it messed everything up but now i either use the dvd or this new thing called "mini image no cd" which is run by deamon tools and works fine!!
