Last time we saw a topic on this vehicle, on this section of the PR forums I was looking for your suggestions on whether to make a new Up-Armored HMMWV or a MRAP Cougar model. Will since a great looking HMMWV is already at works by the talented guys on the Polish Forces Community faction, I choose to go with this unique armored truck instead (The previous topic discussion on which vehicle I should go with is no longer needed and can be closed, since I’ve already decided and at work). Anyhow, since I haven’t displayed any worthy updates on my work, I’ll present you with an 85% done; work in progress images of my MRAP Cougar H model (will also be transformed into 6x6 Cougar HE):
Actual Cougar H
Note the wheels seen in this picture are more often seen on the 4x4 Cougar H type and since I'm transforming mine into a 6x6 HE, I've included the Cougar HE type wheels instead.
The model:

Stay tuned as more progress moves forward, as I’ll be adding more parts, cutting down polygons, and I finishing a detailed inside view of the vehicle.

Wow, good work. Quick bit of constructive critique, I notice in the picture that the sides of the roof are rounded off, unlike in the model. But damn, kick *** so far!

Yeah that’s the thing; I'm tying to cut down on polygons since the BF2 limit for this type of vehicle is 5500 polygons and at this point I'm already at around 4770 (note, the limit is 5500, but it is recommended to be 75% of 5500).

Perhaps there are areas you could cut down on in the undercarriage?
Edit : Does the model have the V-shaped hull aswell?

The first thing I would do to cut down on poly's is the undercarriage. Most vehicles in BF2 are completely flat underneath with detail added in the texture. Also, for the wheels just make them have a flat side and that will cut down alot also.
That looks really awesome
PS - You made your post in word

No I had made my post ready 3 days ago and I had typed it all up ready to "Submit new Thread", but then I decided to save it up and work a little more on the model before releasing.
PS - Great idea on the one sided flat wheels; I might actually try that.

And yeah, really cut down the poly detail on the tires, you can add some of that back using bum maps

I didn't see anything about Canada in the original post. Also, the vehicle that he is modeling is a USMC vehicle, as can be seen on the door in the picture.
