hard coding you can get around

this is true just something i found out like 2 days ago
i have found out thanks to one of my friends who is a ok modder, who trys getting around hard coding so far he's been doing a good job. but has found hard coded files can't be passed.
such as putting ejection seats in planes it can be done just will work in a weird way were you will always shoot up
fast roping just make something that drops a grappling hook but stays hooked to it but the problem with that is that you have to exit the vehicles then grab onto the rope also you can bring the rope back up.
other ones i haven't looked at because i doing better things to do.
but you can't make this stuff work prefect or that well but you can get them going just in a weird way because you aren't changing the files just making new owns and changes others to get the same out come or close enough.
also if you read this don't say anything bad about this ok admins lock it if you want after you read it.

satnav has also thought of how to do fastroping. looks possible.

almost everything in the game you can get around if you know what to use

It's probably already been discovered by many of the talented DEVs. They just don't want dysfunctional parts of the mod.

good point but then again you can cover the stuff up with other additions

Heh. Your not 'getting around hard coded stuff', you're being creative to accomplish a goal. Hardcoded refers to anything that you can't do with in-game assets. Such as 128 player servers, fast ropes, etc.
Sure you can make a fast rope alternative, but there are no actual fast ropes in game, so the best you can do is fake them with usually pretty ugly hacks.

well it's not a hack, also you can just touch it up a little to make it look good also make the merlin back door control system with the ropes but makes it a longer lift in the same time so you can lower and raise the ropes i'm not sure if that would work but good idea.
but 128 servers that needs the games engine to change that plus i beleave some server **** to

Oh my god, if he finds out how to do it...
Every person on the PR Forum will be an *** for laughing at the first person to suggest fast roping.

well SATNAV is one kickass modder he might have don't it.
also it can be done but in a way were you exit then have to quickly grab the rope or you fall to your death.

I doubt any soldier would fast rope out of the back of a Merlin for the reason there's nowhere past the ramp to attach the ropes on to

Its a hack.
Definition of hack. Actually what you're talking about meets like 2 or 3 of the hack definitions.
Its also what we generally call them between modders. The way we managed to get the kit limiting system to work is a hack, same with the spawning of commander assets. Working on a player specific messaging hack at the moment to get rid of some of the spam on servers.

Fastroping would be awful anyways -- already idiots try to deploy guys in a hot zone, this would only encourage them.

I also had a fastroping idea. It would require the use of a co pilot, See my idea was that the co-pilot would press a button to spawn grapples on the side of the heli which would reach down at least 50m.

Thanks for the original idea Isaac Newton. /sarcasm. Lol, people have thought of that way, way, way, way long ago.

The day fastropes are created and actually executed in any vBF2 mod is the day PR is going to die (lol).

yeah fast roping would get you killed but i'm saying it can be done not it's a smart thing to have unless if it for ghost train and some map that have area the chopper only can hover over but are still to high for the troops to jump out
but something like server stuff you can't get around with the game engine but things in the game like making a ejection seat that you have to mod it in a different way then you would other files but thats what i was told i know a simple way to make it work but not sure if it would kill you or not.

Wouldn't it be setting the exit vehicle point a few metres above the cockpit?

Thats the simplist way of doing it, yes. But he makes it sound like hes got an actual ejection seat since it might kill you.
