Lots of Servers, No Decent Gameplay...

Please bear with me during my rant as I vent some frustration. If you are a troller or do not wish to read said rant, close the thread now and don't complain afterwards.
Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble finding a decent server to play on lately? I had the evening completely to myself so I wanted to get online for some quality PR time with a good squad.
It seems as if finding a quality server with quality players on it is getting more and more difficult to find. It wasn't like this during open beta. There were fewer servers, but better gameplay/teamplayers on the few that were there. Now, I find locked servers, servers labeled "teamplay" and not a lick of actual teamplay going on...only fucktardery, or a majority of people on the server do not speak English, which is fine, but it makes communication nearly impossible, a couple people on this server, a couple people on that server, servers running vBF2 maps. Its getting ridiculous.
Its getting to the point where I don't really want to even take the time going from server to server trying to find a decent squad to play with anymore because finding one (if one can be found) takes forever. Since so much of this game relys on teamwork, if you have a shit team, you're not gonna have much fun at all. Sadly, the shit squads outnumber the good ones 10 to 1.
I know its been mentioned before and I have to say I agree with having a server that is by invite only for people who know what teamplay involves in PR. I know this is not going to happen, but I have to say if it did, I'd be all for it.
PR Devs, you've got a gem of a mod here, but sometimes I think you give your community too much credit. Do they really have the competence to handle this mod as you intended it? Or are most people trying to find a way to undo, ignore or circumvent the hard work you've put into this? WE have some great teamplayers here whether we get along with them all or not, but they are far outnumbered by the fucktards that ruin it for the rest of the community and do not take the time to learn the basics of the game or simply disregard the whole "teamplay" aspect that we all strive for.

That'll teach you!
On topic though, I also found gameplay to be somewhat lacking from server to server ( before my computer went kaboom, now it's completely lacking.

) This happens with every release, be patient and gameplay will improve over time.

They don't have the 15 sec spawn servers due server license, so we are forced to hang with them, else they'd be on their uberfast spawn servers.
Basically, I agree with OP, its hard to find any teamwork and even if its just a squad.
I know, when I was pubbing with MEDI, we were on TeamSpeak and coordinated everything inside the squad and mainly did ambushes against British on 7 Gates.
And every time, we tried something, a horde of nubs followed us, ruining everything.
The most retarded moment was, when the team recaptured River Fort, we set up a RP near Outpost and attacked that, as the 2 SLs at River saw us and quickly abandoned their positions and came after us, only to lose River Fort faster than you can pronounce the CP's name...
Every time, we went somewhere, we had 2-3 squads following us, no one could do something themselves, even their rally points were close to our RP..geez..

yep, thats wat u call pain-in-the-*** gameplay
but sometimes u get lucky, a week ago i went on the Thors Brigade server (i think it was anyway) and played a great game on Kashan desert, my squad used VOIP, our team set defences over the bunker area, and we co-ordinated with other squads, the US kept spamming us with tanks on the hills, but we held out pretty well

I was on the PASSWORDED tg teamwork night last night. The map was OGT, and by and large it was a great experience, whole team working together, following orders etc, some which I to have a time had trouble finding.
Then, the dreaded blue guy strikes. We're attacking the chinese main, we get a helo to hover over the river, we drop out, swim to shore and start walking to where you get up the cliff. Blue guy goes to the chinese boat, drive it 50m up stream to the place you can get up, making lots of noise and leave a nice grey boat on the mini-map to get seen.
It gets worse. We start crawling towards the chinese wire when all of a sudden "GRENADE" rings out. The moron is grenade spamming the base, totally ruining our approach, we crawl back and hope they think its just the lone wolf.
However due to wasted time, we enemy capped back train, leaving us feeling frustrated an with a long jungle trek ahead of us.
My point? If this is what you get on passworded TW servers, god help some of the others out there! If only the DEVs could mod the players...

I think this thread is about....
nothing but overeagerness and slight arrogance.
I wish i could see all those who complain about smacktards who play pr the first time.
i guess those would have much to learn.
first you have to read the english manual (if u see it on a huge desktop^^) and search for further infos at the board.
u know noone and if u dont speak english u will have big problems.
this mod (and its environment) is still not a final.
we have a board, irc, the first manual, a wiki which is still only in 1 main language and a small german wiki.
so if anyone complains about newbies, greenhorns or this intolerant word smacktard....
help all newbies to get into this mod and its community.... or play with your clan/community in one squad ,try your best and dont complain about the others.
otherwise i suggest that all "high skillers" shouldnt play public anymore.
considering smacktards in a squad tactic may be helpful. so a squad just flanks while some smacktards make trouble in the front
so what...everything has a (dis)advantage
war is hell .... so PR is hell.... its no kindergarden with a musical request programme

When I started playing this game some weeks ago it was great. Always in good teams with VOIP usage. Now lately it's all silent. Last night I had two squadleaders without VOIP. There was no team feeling and all did their own thing.
This was a European server. Maybe it's the other way around playing NA servers?

Well I am not new to the mod. I've played since the first release and I know pretty much all the basics for this current build.
This was not spoken out of intolerance or arrogance, but out of frustration. If you read, you will also see that I do not have a problem specifically with non-English speaking servers. It just eliminates the servers I can get on and play with communication and this is my problem for not being able to speak the language.
Since I am not the only that has noticed this, because YOU don't personally feel this frustration does not mean that you can tell those of us that find this frustrating that we shouldn't feel that way. That, right there,is arrogance at its "finest".
I pointed out before I even began venting that this was a post to vent out of frustration. Please read every word and point of my posts and please do not fixate on any one point individually because they all go together to convey an entire thought process.
My intentions were not to offend anyone and I don't think I singled anyone out or made any personal attacks so I do not expect anything of the sort in return.
Thank you.

I do agree with Ghost. Use of tactics, teamwork and simple good judgment is on the decline on PR servers. Recently, only the Tacticalgamer server allowed me to have a few good games. And even there it's on the decline. There is a good discussion regarding this matter on the TG forums and, clearly, Ghost isn't the only PR player frustrated by this situation.
Maybe we've been a bit spoiled by the gameplay we had during the public beta of PR .6.

I can find a good squad to run with about 70% of the time on TG\Raging Rebels\GH and TexasTeamplayers and 101st Airborne. Aside from that it is hit or miss when it comes to the OTHER squads being decent. Theres usually only 2 squads per team that are effective. I do see a lot of squads that seem to be working together but generally suck at the game though

. Tough spot to be in...they will be chatting and working hard but have 4-8 KDR's all down the line. On another note, the tankers and pilots seem to be GREATLY lacking...this is my biggest gripe for gameplay. Idiot tankers rush to the front lines, no dedicated transport pilots...just drives me nuts. I'd like to see more of the vetrans in Tanker squads, keeping the noobs out of them...also be nice to see some good pilots manning the helos and working with the CO.
Yeah the beta was awesome though, being a commander was like playing real time chess literally. It really hit home when a SL said "shouldn't we defend here CO....we are already winning...no need to attack". Sounded just like my old romanian chess coach..."no need for risky tactics...you are up two pawns, the battle is won...playout the position."

I was there, in the helo then attacking the main then making the treck to the trian area ... were you in my squad?

I've only been playing steadily for a month or so but I've also noticed that the quality of teamwork has declined over the past week or two. I've also noticed people with VOIP using it less and less, especially the squad leaders. We'll get a little update every 5-10 minutes from the SL and that's it. Mind you, in the past three days I've had a couple of good rounds, including one when I was SL without VOIP and yet was listened to by my squadmembers via text. It wasn't an amazing round but it was really satisfying because that element of teamwork was there.
TBH, whether we win or lose doesn't matter so much to me, it's the quality of teamwork that determines what I take away from the experience.

@ Ghost.....
There has been lots of discussion lately about this very same issue, but using different analogies, acronyms, and parables to define what the problem actually is. IMO part of the problem the lack of leadership for some of the community members. I suggest that building a squad and excuse the people who dont VOIP or want to part of a cohesive unit (just do it nicely, instead of calling names, just say "Bud, I think your not join to work out in this squad please try another" then boot him).
I have seen you play before and your a good sport, perhaps your a little frustrated now, but a good PR player. I am hoping that PR will acheive longevity through the players like you who will take leadership roles and mentor these folks -yes, I know that some may never learn or belong, buts thats life -yes?
I used to take on newer people and mentor them all the time in the DVB server and I know that NEO and some of the DVB guys
intentionally continue to do the same as it only makes the entire gaming experience more robust for all.....
Oh and yes, those players who never adapt????? they are the reason for increased K/d ratio post PR releases.... I just relax, and wait cause often they perform *cluster feck* advances on CP's that turn into duck shoots..
Cheers,
PMEDIC
p.s. I'll be sure to find ya next time I anm on and join your squad and have a game or two!
