hi everybody,

I've a problem witch crashing PR back to desktop. Mostly it happens while loading a map, but 1-2 map I can start and play for 5-10 minutes, but after that it's the same - back to Wondows without any Error-Message. Just *blink*, and I'm on desktop again.

Some Facts about this problem:

1.) It's the same with the new 0.6 and old 0.5 Version. Nod difference, I've try bold.

2.) Of course I check my Video.con-Settings:

It's the same resolution like in the game! Very interessting is, that if I delete this file noting is happend - the game start and crash to desktop like befor. Could it be, that Video.con does'nt play any rolle?

3.) My system (Notebook)

Pentium Dual Core 1,66
GeForece 7600 Go with 256 MB RAM
1 GB RAM

BF2 works without any problems. Why PR does'nt do that?!!

What can I do? Thx.

On my laptop (go7300, 1.8turion 64, 1gb ram), I always have this type of issue on most maps. Problem is solved for me by using older drivers and running in 800x600

Thats about as much help as I can give, but i would like to know if there is another solution.

My PR crashes back to desktop on joining a server ( I just about see "JOIN GAME" button come up then Bam!) . I can play Single-Player just fine ; it's only online I have this problem. PR is up to date ; I've re-installed and re-patched BF2 so I'm clueless here. My PC is well up to the job so any ideas? Thanks.

My report:
2 x Crash to desktop when I pick up an enemy Medi kit and and try to heal my self by looking down. Game crashes by the click to heal my self.

1 x Crash to to desktop by getting an H-AT from the enemy straight in my face. Game crashes on death.

Few crashes on some other situations.

I crash to desktop sometimes on mapchanges for instance after playing Kashan Desert and loading the new map. As soon as the map is fully loaded -> CRASH.

Sometimes it just happens, just like that. Dunno really why....

BUT - I have to at least log off my Windows and log on again in order to play BF2 or PR after a crash. If I do not reboot my PC or let windows load itself again the bf2-engine won't respond.
The bf2-splash screen will appear but only ~40mb-50bm are loaded by the bf2.exe

I have 2GB RAM and a ATI x1650XT (I know it's not THE shit but should do the job)
I've got a slight feeling it has something to do with my ABR Client. Whenever I do not use it - everything seems normal. Turn it on and weird things happen

My in-game voip sometimes collapses and I can not speak anymore but still hear my squadmates.... what really bugs me - sometimes my character won't do what I want and will carry on moving in a certain direction even though I'm not pressing a key. Same happens when I'm in zoom or sometimes in vehicles. My PC-Speaker once even made bleeps as if I had been pressing too many keys at once...
however this isn't the appropriate thread... I guess

This crash might be related to your video settings in PR. You’re probably running the game at way too high settings which causes this crash. You might be running out of video ram when switching from one map to another, so try putting your texture settings to medium.

yeah, I'll give it a try - I guessed that would be the issue... but I got so used to playing with High Textures.... everything else is set to medium and off...
however... will try and report in after testing
