Upgrade the US standard Rifle

I know I know this has been talked about before. I'm just thinking that it'd be kinda cool to drop the M16 in favor of something new for US Squad Leaders. I mean it could be plausible that in the "near-future" frontline troops (at least some) in WW3 would get the next best thing. I'm not talking about anything drastic. I mean the G3 is an awesome weapon and hasn't broken the game and its a definite stretch for the whole MEC army to have access to a scoped one...why not stretch the US a little? I think it would add a little bit of flavor. The Militia SL gun is awesome but its not being spammed everywhere...I don't even want a marksmen gun for SL, just something besides the M16 that is one of the new cool US guns in prototype now (not the OICW or anything wild...just a little something extra cool to reward us SL'ders out there).

The OICW programs along with the XM8 were cancelled for the adaptation of the U.S. Military. The squad leaders in PR already get a rifle with x4 zoom, what else do you need?

I have noticed that the M16 in PR .6 for the Squad leader zooms in more than the other m16s I think this is their way to address it?

M16A4 w/ ACOG is coming in 0.7
Currently, Rifleman and Officer kit has 4x zoom on M16A2 ironsights as placeholder.

Realism, plz! SLs IRL use the same weapons as everyone else, AFAIK.

Nothing really, I was just talkin. I think it'd be fun to givem a little extra somethin somethin...SL'd is a tough job. I definitely take to it more on Militia maps because its refreshing to get a different gun that kinda special. It doesn't even have to be all that better than the M16...just different. Just my opinion though, its not like its an issue or anything. I do see a lot of reluctant SL'der out there who are good at it. I dont think giving the SL a different gun would make all the crapper idiots out there rush for it either....the community is good.

because its cool isnt a reason somthing should be in a realism mod.

the US marines will be getting a M16A4 soon, and the rifleman getting a M16A4 with ACOG.
and the army(when it arrives) getting M4's (not the fully automatic M4A1)
