Spawning in Vehicles...

Hey there...

I'm kinda annoyed whenever I'm in an APC and some guy respawns in it - the freakin' APC moves, slides down hills or if I'm in combat I can't drive away since someone is blocking the goddamn driversseat.
Can't you change the spawning position to somewhere in the back of the vehicle? instead of right in front at the driversseat? I wouldn't mind changing positions in order to conduct a vehicle - especially when the entering place is at the back (like in the chinese or US APC).
people spawning in the warriors is even worse...

:mr-t:

This has been suggested many times. It is not possible.

and you should not be 1 man tanking / APCing, that would help alot you know for both the performance of your vehicle and for ppl not spawning in ;)

But anyhow, this probably won't be a problem in .7, as from what I hear APC spawning will probably be removed.

Apc's are not really fighting vehicles. They are mobile spawn/kit request points that have some defensive capability.

Therefore IMO they are fine to be operated by one crewman, why need more? They should be kept out of the direct line of fire of anything like a tank that can immediately waste them.

Real shame can't spawn on a seat other than drivers though.

but they are awesome for fighting anything except for tanks and people with heavy-at. So in other words they are awesome for fighting against 90% of the enemy team.

And as rhino said there is a simple way to make them spawn somewhere else than the drivers seat, get a driver for yourself. :p

the gunner is there for defense and support, otherwise you have the argument of why put a gun on it in the first place?

Not to try to bring up the same old argument again and again, but I was just curious if anyone had tried going at the APC/Driver spawn issue from a different angle....like say...instead of changing the spawn order, has anyone looked at changing which seat is marked as the drivers?

If possible, it'd even make more sense, considering the driver can enter from the back, yet he's immediately in the front? *shrugs* Just throwing something out there.

Well it'll be sorted in .7 so it doesn't matter anymore thankfully. With any luck the APC will be used like the helis, bringing people into the thick of it and going back to base/other spawns to help bring troops to the front and clearing the area for them.

I believe this is one of the first things the devs have tried. Changing the seats would mean remodeling the entire vehicle.

Anyone had that thing happen to them when you spawn on a fast moving APC, but end up in the vehicle directly beside it? That is truly wired. One minute i was ready to spawn on the SLs APC, next minute i find myself in a Nanjing, driven by a 1337 spec ops, who made sure we glided for a second before cascading down the side of a ravine, as a burning wreck.

Kuffrah Oilfields, tank squad.
Me and some other guy was tanking, we got hit somehow from beyond visual range, so we hopped out to repair. We were on this ridge so we had pulled the tank back abit, behind cover of the ridge.
Then this noob spawns on me and hops in the tank (without crewman kit) and the tank speeds up and ends infront of an enemy tank.
It was all pretty funny actualy, the guy who hopped in realised he couldn't control the tnak, so he hopped in the .50 and everyoen was like WTF! on VoIP and the guy was screaming and yelling and swearing untill he got blown up.
Hilarious, but we lost our tank

Hopefully APCs will gain some other ability with the spawning function removed then. :-( Since being a mobile spawn point is a very big part of APC's strategic value in PR as of now.

Keeping Supplytruck as Teamspawn, Devs?
No more plausible, imo.
