MEC Question for the Community -- How should I write it?

I've been trying to write up a few backstories for MEC; why they exist, etc, in hopes to querry the devs about it and (maybe) instate one for the "Official PR background". I feel I would like to contribute to the project in some small way.
This is not to add your own ideas, I may make an open discussion for that if I feel I need it.
Right now however, I'd like to see what a more popular angle would be. This is the most vital bit of my project.
For those prejudiced against all things Middle Eastern, please do not start something here.

I think the DEVs are already working on something, but I voted for he first one.

The chances of all the Arab nations gathering together and forming a MEC-style coalitions are zero, do you see Saudi Arabia/Jordan teaming with Syria and Iran to fight the US?
MEC is fictional, and it should be replaced with a real Arab army has it has no place in a reality mod in my opinion.
I voted number 1

i hate the single army idea, i voted 2.
the MEC are here to stay

You will never create a realistic storyline for the MEC because anything remotely similar to the MEC just won't happen.
PR is better left without a sotryline tbh, it limits the devs possibilities if they always need to worry about conflicting with a story most people won't read anyway.
IMO, anyway.
I must agree.

I'd find it more interesting if they had a background. Adds more sense to the battles.

This may shock you, but the United States and The British are currently not at war with China. Better remove them too, thats unrealistic

Why would it shock us?
I won't be surprised if there is a war between the US and China, but the US depends heavily on the Chinese and their "Made in China" fisher price toys.

i could never picture them as under 1 leader since there are so many factions between the Islamic groups.
but i could picture them as 2.
But i also dont want much of a story line, this is PR not crysis

why should this matter?
cant you people just lean back and take this for what it is, a game, with a very hypothetical background to make the strategics and gameplay dynamics possible?
a backgroundstory would only spur on sheepish people to pick out factions to blame for an artificial conflict.
let it be, ffs.
btw, tetris has no storyline either.

isn't tetris based on a true story (Dave Chappelle's Block Party) ?!
however I'd imagine they're from Saudi Arabia and wished they'd drive pimped Humvee's or Mercedes / Porsche Cayenne instead of those lousy Vodniks....

Cuts from the PR script
Soldier 1:SHOOT THE BAD MEN, SHOOT THE BAD MEN IN THE FACE!
Soldier 2: OMG! TANK!
*tank stops, turret starts moving*
Soldier 1: LAWL, solo tanker!
*runs up and throws an AT mine on the tank*
Soldiers 1 & 2: KIKIKIKI!
*tank kills Soldier 1 and 2*
...
*AT mine kills tank*
*Civilian runs up, picks up soldier 2's gun... Dies instantly*
*Screen fades to black*
War, war never changes.

That's a defeatist creativity dry response. Let me get Tom Clancy on the phone, see if he can come up with anything.
While the Arab states rarely work together this is not true in all cases. In 1948 several Arab states, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, who normally would not cooperate fought against Israel. Again in 1967 Egypt, Jordan and Syria banded against Israel. I assume PR takes place about 5 years from now. A lot can happen in five years, especially in volatile areas such as the Middle East.

world has change A LOT since the toms clancy books . in that era the relationships between URSS and china were really bad .

there is like a 2% chance of PR ever adopting a storyline as the only thing it could do is limit what we could do with PR.

Not really...IMO the MEC gives you guys a HUGE opportunity to make even your own series of weapons and equipment (tanks etc), as it is slightly futuristic.
And for you nay sayers who think the middle east would never work together, what about the United Arab Emerates?

and what says we cant do that without a storyline? that is if we wanted to.
the fact is with a storyline you are limited, you can not go outside the storyline without changing the story and then that will just make ppl like you in the community upset about it.
