What's the status on Scenario mode?

Back in 0.3 (?) my favorite game mode was Single Objective. It reflected real fighting more than AAS ever can. The biggest problem with it was suicidal spec ops and engineers who would parachute down above the asset and drop C4 and SLAMs as they fell. Now that parachutes are gone and view distance is increased this will become a whole new tactical game.

SO was removed with promises of a versatile mode called Scenario in which mappers can chose several objectives with options for order of destruction/capture and randomness. The Insurgency mode is a game type very much like I hoped Scenario to be but specialized toward the insurgent battles.

Can we expect Scenario to debut in a future release? I can't wait to destroy the bridge in OGT, hold the radio tower for several minutes, defend the train from being C4ed and hunt to find a downed aircraft in the forests before the opposing team does.

Eh I want to know what happened to the silenced sniper rifle they had in that version.

Yeah i would like to get an answer on this too.

PS That silenced rifle was the M16 SPR. Problem is that the Marines dont use it although it would make perfect sense to put in in for the the US Army. Hell that gun is even in Americas Army.

you should not even attempt to compare Scenario and SOBJ, the only thing thats the same is that you blow up some objectives. SOBJ didn't work atall well and ehhh, 90% of the players where running around the map wondering where the flags had gone.

db is working on scenario for v0.7 :)

This will be hillarious.

*Objective 1 has been destroyed*

Enemy team has won the round

'omg ghey, how could they won, terz no flags 2 take, dis mod sux'

Will it only be about blowing stuff up?

Now when there is a civilian class in the mod, some Scenariomaps could be about arresting a terroristleader, or something like that. The insurgurents have to protect their leader, and the UK/US- team has to knife him (arrest him) in order to win.

It wont be 100% about blowing stuff up and defending but its not going to go as deep as arresting a terrorist...
