Why Have an Official PR Training Team ??
Posted: 2007-08-19 08:39
I felt I should post this thread to explain something to the general Community about the Training Team.
Why?
1. First lets look at a few threads:

A few Quotes from within !
Masaq;460360']Yup. Utterly fed up with PR players giving the whole "If you've not been here since 0.2 and if you play vBF2/CS/Any non-PR game you're a nub" attitude and all of that.
That includes the "Suggested before; use the search button" fraternity.
Frankly you make the average PR joe just trying to have a good game look like elitist shmucks. Get over yourselves already and accept that PR is a game, nothing more. Your high and mighty attitude does yourselves and the mod in general no favours.
Notice there is NO mention of any one at all helping others out (Apart From the above one, where nothing happened and everyone went on about gameplay ??)
Or this one !!!!

1st Post :
Please bear with me during my rant as I vent some frustration. If you are a troller or do not wish to read said rant, close the thread now and don't complain afterwards.
Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble finding a decent server to play on lately? I had the evening completely to myself so I wanted to get online for some quality PR time with a good squad.
It seems as if finding a quality server with quality players on it is getting more and more difficult to find. It wasn't like this during open beta. There were fewer servers, but better gameplay/teamplayers on the few that were there. Now, I find locked servers, servers labeled "teamplay" and not a lick of actual teamplay going on...only fucktardery, or a majority of people on the server do not speak English, which is fine, but it makes communication nearly impossible, a couple people on this server, a couple people on that server, servers running vBF2 maps. Its getting ridiculous.
Its getting to the point where I don't really want to even take the time going from server to server trying to find a decent squad to play with anymore because finding one (if one can be found) takes forever. Since so much of this game relys on teamwork, if you have a shit team, you're not gonna have much fun at all. Sadly, the shit squads outnumber the good ones 10 to 1.
I know its been mentioned before and I have to say I agree with having a server that is by invite only for people who know what teamplay involves in PR. I know this is not going to happen, but I have to say if it did, I'd be all for it.
PR Devs, you've got a gem of a mod here, but sometimes I think you give your community too much credit. Do they really have the competence to handle this mod as you intended it? Or are most people trying to find a way to undo, ignore or circumvent the hard work you've put into this? WE have some great teamplayers here whether we get along with them all or not, but they are far outnumbered by the fucktards that ruin it for the rest of the community and do not take the time to learn the basics of the game or simply disregard the whole "teamplay" aspect that we all strive for.
Disappointedly

Any mention of Helping "Train" these "Tards" ............... No just a request for a private server for "Pro PR Players" ??
I think you see what I mean, and I by no means intend to "slag" of anyone by quoting them, but enough is enough.
2. I, and a lot of others on here, as I am sure you will agree are getting a little fed up with all this constant bickering about "n00bs", RTFM, blah blah. It does not help or constitute anything other than - a **** load of posts that ends in nothing being resolved anyway ?
3. Yes its true we are now seeing a different set of players - why?
Because they do not understand PR in its entirity, they will play as they do until they are shown the right way.
Yes there are guides out there (so dont even start that one), but a picture (as they say) paints a thousand words ?
You do not join the Army, and read a manual, and thats it - your in, you "practice" as well.
People play PR for a number of reasons, and I reckon 90% of the community play for fun TBH.
People do not want to sit for 2 hours after downloading a new mod and read the Guide - they wanna play it, its human nature (I bet we all did the same if we are honest)
Younger Players especially would rather be "shown" in a controlled environment how to play this Mod ............ and I can guarantee once they understand its concept of Teamplay, will use it effectively, as they will have seen the benefits of it.
4. The Training
So to that end we have set up the "Official PR Training Team"
Where you can change it - become a PR Instructor
[PR-I]
This will run on the Official PR Server, once a week, and will be made up of a number of Instructors - from the community, under the control of R-PUB Masaq.
The server will run in its own Profile with the settings you want set up, it will be passworded so Training can be carried out, you will have your own TS Channel to coach the students.
Each week people will sign up for training and a Plan will be put together in your own Training Team Forum as to what will be carried out during the training.
After a few months you should be able to see the improvement of players on our server.
So if you have ranted on in the past, or are fed up of the public servers at the moment, then instead of sitting back and whining on about ............... help out and become an Instructor ??
If you are interested, and want to really give something back to the community please post your Application to become a PR Instructor here:
http://realitymod.com/forum/t25683.html
Alternatively if you feel you could do with being given some Training then please feel free to sign up here:
http://realitymod.com/forum/t25882.html
You will all be surprised the difference that can be made here ???
(Longest post I have made for a while .... phew

I keep reading mention of all the “morons” from vBF2 that disrupt PR games as well as then being called “CS Kiddies” whether or not they have ever played CS.
When you play online, you’re going to run into these types of players no matter what game you play and believe me, they don’t all come from CS or vBF2.
So maybe try a wee bit harder to drop the elitist attitude, deflate your ego a wee bit

I don't think it's elitist attitude, I think its the fact that these CS/BF2v kiidiez come along and just act.... non sensible.
What if your favourite pub, was suddenly invaded by 13 year old bacardi breezer drinking kiddies?

If you can play (and I mean REALLY play) then I suggest some spreading of the love across the servers. Don't just hit the same servers, with the same players and the same squad lineups. There are some happy, contented players out there who appreciate what the mod is and they need some guiding to fulfill their capacity.
Get out there, guide squads around, find the balance between a democracy and a marxist method of teaching them so they don't get their backs up and get them upto SPEED!!!
This mod expands by word of mouth and we have to grab the good players and show them what the mod can achieve gameplay wise so the love spreads.
