Hello PR

Thought I would say hello since I just signed up for your forums today.
I live in a rural area in the Sierra Nevada Mts. and just received DSL about 2 weeks ago! Prior I was on a slow dial up. For years. Slow. Very slowwwww.

I run a squad in Aces High and have for years.
http://www.332nd.org
Thankfully Aces High has never required a fast connection, but now that I have DSL I can explore the first person shooters. I enjoyed the box version of BF2 for a long time and when a squadie recommended PR I downloaded it and gave it a try. I have played 3 times and for the most part enjoyed myself each time. I am clueless of course, but still having fun.
I am looking for a group of mature players. The kind that are out from under mom and dad and work for a living.

Preferably some who can communicate without using foul language every 30 seconds, don't thump their chests, and brag about their pretend lives and how many real people they have killed, but are out to have fun and enjoy what PR has to offer and make some friends.
If someone has some servers they can recommend I would appreciate it. Or a group/squad/clan I can check out that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Trouble is with PR, that the weakest link in the squad yesterday, doing every no-no in the book, is the best the very next day.
It don't really matter what server you join. At what time. Just takes a little patience. And before you know it you are in the best squad you have ever worked with, having more fun home alone than you would like to admit.
Welcome, and have fun.

Welcome on board Daddog. It is always good to welcome new mature players to the game, especially when they can spell and write coherent sentences.* I am a UK player so it is unlikely our paths will cross but, if they do, you are welcome to join my squad. If you see "RedRaiders" or "Defence", that's usually me.

Thanks Red.
I was playing on Saturday with some UK gents. I don't recall what the server was, but the delightful English accents so many of us Yanks enjoy was undeniable.

Hey dadog, and welcome to PR!
Its refreshing to see such a gentlemanly introduction from a new player. If you have any problems with anything PR related, remember to check both guides (the wiki and the PDF) and remember to tell the chaps in your squad that you're new, and they'll be sure to help (usually!).

I had some time to play yesterday. Wish I could remember who I played with, but once I got the vox down and how to communicate via text it went much more smoothly. At times I was asked to do something and I was clueless. Everyone of them were quite patient in explain to me how to get some things done. If those guys are an example of the PR community I will be staying!
Looking forward to more time behind a rifle.
It is interesting the difference in playing the standard BF2 and playing PR. I have played the BF2 a few times to try it out. Compare and contrast kind of thing.

BF2 is more like the main arena in Aces High. We call em furballs. Wild fights, planes every where. You get in the thick of it
real quick. Hundreds of people online at once. Yes you can skirt around the edges of the front line so to speak, but for the most part if you take off from a forward base you will be in a dog fight pretty quick. In PR the time to a fight seems longer to me. Attitude appears to be more cautious with more team work (as it has been stated). Not to say the BF2 players don’t have team work, they do, but kills seem more significant in PR insofar as they are harder to achieve. At least in my perception they are. Not in the number of hits, but just getting one since the players are not of the furball mentality.
In Aces High we have an even called Squad Operations. Takes place three Fridays of every month. Squads are pitted against each other in various theaters and time periods of World War II. Always Allied VS Axis. Every squad has an objective be it escorting, fighter sweep, CAP, flying bombers, etc. It is my favorite time in Aces High. Been doing Squad Operations for years and years. Close to 300 players play in Squad Operations every Friday.
PR feels like the Squad Ops of Aces High to me.
