Hello PR Community! Hey guys how r ya! Meh I know this post is kinda late because i already posted 4 times but I wanted EVERYONE to know me! :p Meh well I haven't played Project Reality yet but I have watched a lot of videos and my my my! y on earth would i play Vanilla! I just got acouple questions acouple are content related and Just Performance

Srry if my questions are alittle newby

1. I've heard that A lot of people use Mic's and people actually work together IS that really true? Or is it a rare thing like Bf2 vanilla?

2. Are the Aircraft and helicopters harder to fly now that its Realistic? Like u have to turn on your engine then have the flaps or is it same Vanilla like u jump in and go?

3. Are there unlocks like vanilla?

4. Is there a beta group for this mod because i would love to test the upcoming versions I have tons of ideas for making sure vehicles and turrets etc are working like they should anywhere as expected!

5. This is my performance question
I was wondering how well PR would actually run on my system. I've heard its a huge powerhorse and stuff well my system is

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Kingston 2GB DDR2667
VisionTek Radeon X1950pro 256mb (I get it in a week)
Western Digital 160G SATA

I cant wait to start playing with u guys but also could someone adopt me? :P that newby adopt program i read about somewhere on this forum acouple days ago. :D

Welcome!

Here are your answers.

1. It's true, the majority use Microphones and teamplay is the norm rather than the exception.

2. I would argue that helicopters and jets are now easier to fly. In truth, the only work done on the jets to date has been to make their speed more realistic. Expect that to change in the next release. As to the helicopters, yes the model has changed somewhat, but the primary change has been that there is now a thirty second warm-up time. Attempts to take off before this time will result in a crash. Note that - in general - Helicopters do not have flaps.

3. No

4. Yes. My first suggestion is that you take part in the 0.7 Open Beta, if and when it is announced, although this might not be for a number of months, as 0.6 is relatively new.

5. Your system is the same as mine and I run mine at 1680 x 1050 with acceptable frame rates with pretty much everything except dynamic lighting maxed out.

Lastly, you don't need adoption, just join a squad and say "Hi guys I'm new but I want to learn" and most sensible players will help you. The most important thing to bring to PR is a willingness to learn and follow orders from your SL. Do that and you'll be beating us in no time. ;)

welcome :)

1. yes, 75% of the time you can hop in a squad and have most if not all the players in the squad using VOIP. Main thing you need is a good Squad leader :)

2. At the moment we have only done a little work on the aircaft which we plan on doing more on in later releases. At the moment the choppers accelate too fast, and the jets have afew problems.

3. nope, but there are pickup kits, some are easter egg "fun" kits like the M82 with dual uzis :p

4. use the search button there is a stick on it somewhere.

5. you should be able to run PR on high/full GFx as its around about the same system I have :)

hope that helps :)

EDIT: also check the player guide, link is under the banner :)

U guys are awesome! thx! Makes me wanna play the mod more knowing theres an awesome community behind it! :D oh and one more thing, How come when i post I read the posts backwards like if my first post was on page one, And i posted another one. It would be the very last post on page 2, and it does that for ever Topic even if i havent posted in it. its not really a problem its more of an annoyance Is that a glitch? or something i changed by accident?

Funny but when the latest post in a forum or message board is at the beginning it always throws me off cause I gotta dig back to the source. Oh well you'll get used to us we're an odd lot. I know I know speak for yourself....heh-heh

About the posts being "backwards" , there's a setting in your user profile you can change to reverse this if you want.

Welcome to PRM.

I would STRONGLY suggest you read the manual fist (link at top of page). There are lots of things that are different than vBF2 in PRM so you should be aware of them so when you need help online , it's not a mundane question like.."how do I get a kit" which is fully explained in the manual.

Vast majority are willing to help a new player by issuing more detailed directives (ie instead of "get on roof and spot" it's "take the stairs on the right over there behind the crates to get to roof and watch the North" )but get tired of telling players why they cant be a sniper.

There is also a SP version that's great for learning basic weapon functions , kits etc. as well as being a lot of fun to play.
