Please dont flame me lol, in a hurry and I am running late so i dont have time to search for old threads. Are there any plans to put LCAC's and Fast Roping back in? I will add more when I get back on tomorrow. Thanks.

On topic, there has definetely been lots of discussion about it. My best guess is the devs will try to put at least fast roping in but even that i can't be sure about. So i'll leave this one open i guess.

I don't think the engine updates the position enough for fast roping from a moving object, so unless there's a clever work around or they manage to change the code (which is a bit risky legal wise) I can't see it happening. LCAC's would be interesting. I wonder if the code is already there? Just needs activating? Or maybe (more realisticly... being EA and all) they took it out so they can give it to us in another addon pack.

if they could make an LCAC in DC they can probably make it work here, that being said id rather not see the LCAC get used, my fav DC server put in on Lost Village for a while and people just got stupid with it theyd get it stuck way the hell up in the mountains

Fast roping was in Beta, i would think that there would still be some kind of programming to it.

If my memory recollects, fast roping was attempted in DC in the BF42 engine, and screenshots shown they almost had it, if it wasnt for engine limitations. One can only guess to say it can be done in BF2, but who knows unless its tried. You would kind of assume it would be added to BF2, but assuming is usually the first step to being wrong.

if i recall correctly the story was the DC guys had permision from EA to hack the engine to try and make it work, it looked like they made it work, however i dont know if the code in BF2 will support it with out being hacked, i wouldnt put it past EA to make it impossible to implement

it was tryed in DC. Reason why i posted in this treand was cos i did a little seartch about the LCAC before i posted my other topic, then by mistake posted it in here

There was an LCAC type vehicle in EoD42, not DC if I remember correctly. The one in DC was , much like the B1 and Nighthawk, unfinished.
