Shooting -Advanced PR beware-

1. Taking shots in the upper leg infront/behind approxiametly ? will make you fall prone, on your knees or crouch.
Taking shots in the lower leg infront/behind approxiametly ? will make you fall prone, on your knees or crouch.
Taking shots on the body infront/behind approxiametly ? will make you fall prone, on your knees or crouch.
2. When you shoot the sight is moving up/down but not the shoulders, body and arms.
Make it more to move on the side and backwards. You shoot you get pushed back by the force.
Could this work and what's your 2nd thougt?

i believe this is hardcoded
(and it's probly been suggested before)

This kind of idea, where hit placement x yields result y (aside from varying loss of player HP) is not possible, though often suggested.
I'm not ragging on you though, it's not an easy thing to find in a search.

How come is the drunk effect possible then when being shot?
What about point 2, that shouldn't be hardcoded. Shoting resulting in sight going backward getting closer to the screen?

I like this idea alot, it's even been in games such as Operation Flashpoint but from what I'm hearing the BF2 engine is hardcoded so none of that stuff is actually possible and it's all thanks to EA/DICE!!!!!!

I see the point. It's not major sway but still the weapon pressure back on you and your shoulders take a push, the weapon and the scope sways. In game this is not how it works. There is no bunch, you don't feel the sight bunches back on your eye.
Take a look at this video

In the video, the sniper abosorbs the recoil easily and it doesnt throw his aim off, as you can see it was a while before he shot again, ensuring that his shot would hit.
Weapon sway would be a good idea, but if you look closely, the sniper in the movie has his weapon resting on the wall, even i can prevent the weapon from swaying when resting it on a wall.
Really??

In the case of tanks there's really a difference in the amount of damage you can take from different sides. That's only a difference in materials and how much damage each one takes.
What he's referring is, if you get hit at some location, something should happen. In the original post he wants soldier to go prone when shot in the leg, and stuff like that.
In case of tanks, usually people ask why not lose the tracks if the shot was at the tracks. There's no way to know where was the hit, so that's the "location based damage" Garabaldi is referring to. Would be better if he said "location based damage effect" or something like that.
The BF2 engine works with hitpoints, when the hitpoints reach certain levels, some effects can be triggered like starting to smoke, burn, etc.
So, back on topic, the first ideas are probably not possible to do, because there's no way that I know we can force a player to go prone, or something like that. But as I explained, there are differences in the amount of damage body parts can take from shots. If you shoot an arm, you take less hitpoints from the enemy, and in the chest is more.

even if the weapon is resting on the wall u will still get weapon sway, ur body moves when you breath, the rifle but is in your shoulder so it moves around,

I'd love the tank system to be put into effect on soldiers. If you get hit...then there is x% that you will either, fall down, loose all stamina, decreased accuracy or LSD vision etc etc. Every hit registers as a hit to the vest for now, might as well spice it up.

IMO weapon sway should be a 'must-have' to prevent the instant accuracy of the riflemen (and snipers, all classes) in this mod. When I was trained to shoot a rifle, I was told to breathe normally and fire the weapon when the sight was over the target at the top of its movement, if you get my meaning. In reality, firing a rifle from any stance and hitting the same point several dozens if not hundreds of yards away is impossible, yet in most games it is very easy.
For me it would be a vast improvement if when sighting your weapon you would have to account for natural "sway" (as it has been referred to).
BTW I think this is my first post - so I should say a big
THANKS! to the development team for this fantastic mod. I'm not playing anything else at the moment

Depends how strict you are with your definition of "point".
But I agree. A rifleman cannot consistently head shot a guy at 300 m IRL. That's ridiculous.

In Americas Army the snipers have to calculate their breathing and shooting. Standing up and shoot it's nearly impossible to hit the target. When you are in a crawl/prone position you still breath but much more less as your shoulders have a better position to rest.
In PR I noticed that all rifles and it's sight moves back on you when you shoot. But it's with a very small marginal and you don't sense it if you don't concentrate on it and even more vital you don't feel it. I'm after to get the feeling that my rifle becomes unsteady when I fire and the feeling that my shoulders take a hit.
