SL's rudely telling CO's what to do

I don't have a problem with SL's being nice and suggesting what CO's should do, but imo, SL's need to understand that they are not the CO, and it's bad enough if they want to disregard the CO's orders, but bitching at him and telling him how he should run things is over the line.
If an SL knows so much about how to be the CO, then he should be the CO, not bug the guy about how to run the show.
Case in point, if I want to build 2 bunkers, 1 firebase, a **** load of razor wire, and maybe even a AAA gun, then that's what I'm going to do. When the tickets are 500-500, I can't believe an SL would be crying about how I'm "wasting tickets" when those bunkers give a tactical advantage, AND when they EARN tickets over time...
Also, this is just a game. You might have a CO who isn't *perfect*, but no one is perfect, so don't ***** at the CO. And if you feel you could do a better job, then apply next round and show how you can do a better job, instead of just being all talk.

I take it you just had a bad round of PR being a CO?...
Just remember, sometimes SL's don't realize that CO stands for Commanding Officer, so bear with their stupidity and ignore it.

I agree with this. Another common thing that I've been seeing, is SL's muting the commander from the onset of game.

I don't take flak from my SL's. In the dictatorship of the X, they will do what they are told or be executed. Mess with teh X? Tis Y you end up Zed!
Respect mah authoritah. Word.
(This is meant to be a joke. I do not condone teamkilling.)
I don't know what to say otherwise. Some people have problem with authority. It's usually a self-confidence issue they are having while playing in the dark with some black lights in their parents basement.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. If a squad leader doesn't feel confidence in his CO, that's more likely to happen.
I think that's a problem with SLs that usually don't are squad members and think they are always in control. It's a very interesting thing to notice.
When I'm squad leading Fuzzhead, for example, he can be a very good squad member because he waits and listen to me. He may even have ideas of his own, but I'm the guy that is leading, so he listens and do exactly what I say.
When we switch and now he is leading, I stay in that same attitude. If I start talking every second telling what the squad should do and what not, I'm not being a good squad member.
Of course we can suggest stuff, but need to find that line of being suggestive and being annoying. It's a thin line.
I think what happens with SLs not respecting or doubting COs orders is something like that. Can you suggest new ideas, of course. But not too much. Good COs will have a plan and usually they will reply to your questions. But I found out that they will usually do that to squad leaders that are active in trying to help him achieve his plan.
Anyways, something for SLs to consider. Give a new commander a chance, and try to follow his orders, support him and give feedback. You will notice if he's a good CO or not by his replies and his overall plan (sometimes you don't know what it is, but good COs usually tell all squad leaders).

if the commander repeatedly over and over keeps spawning his truck and driving directly towards the enemy, i prety much ignore him completely...
if hes new i make suggestion but i will listen to his plan...
its hard to be CO and yea there are alot of SL's out there that like to blame everything thats bad happeening on the CO as soon as he steps in the chair.

Simple enough, if people aren't listening to you spend your efforts on maintaining commander assets is good locations. There is always one or two people who are willing to cruise with you in your truck.

SL:no commander im going to get a sniper rifle
CO: ok then do it befor you request the kit
SL:no im going to to pwn
*CO dies and gets spawns engineer so he can repair it himself*

This happened to me the other day when I was squadleading:
"Uh, Commander?"
"Yeah?"
"Why did you build two bunkers and a shit load of barbed wire in the main base?"
"This guy (random newb who just got into PR, probably heard about the commander assests) told me to!"

Indeed
I think, we just need a sort of map guide for the commanders
Because right now, they dont really think, they just bring the truck, start spawning assets, then get ambushed, spawn more trucks and repeat.
Ive encountered a British commander on Helmand, who built a bunker at Whiskey.
As we (the Insurgents) recaptured it, it just turned into a rape fest, as Brits spawned into the bunker and got instantly killed.
We eventually blew it up, but who needs a bunker on a map like Helmand?
Had the same issue yesterday, and just told the commander, that two trucks are enough.
Main problem was, that squad leaders didnt lay down Rally Points and walked over the map from the main base every time, they died

dunno how you feel but I can't follow an CO who's not speaking english. I don't follow Commanders who don't know how to request an Officers kit and I don't follow Commanders who get into a building frenzy and think this game is all about Sim City. Sometimes I see the Commander drive the Supply truck into the enemy and sometimes he's just the commander to get extra points.
It's hard to listen to those guys who've got less experience playing PR than yourself - having to follow them even though you'd know better...? I really wouldn't mind if the map would just go on for 15min. But mostly one map runs for about an hour. An hour of frustration?! I don't think so...
In real life you got the leader kinda guys and you got those who you'd rather not want to follow - for me it's the same in the game.
by the way - orders will be taken... you just have to say it the right way

There is one guy I've noticed alot on the battlearena simply calling people names....
"Hey *******, I said fix the APC I'm in"
"**** you, Noob!"
"*******, I'm talking to you"
Then there's the occasional SL that ******* about being rezzed in a firefight, and not getting rezzed again in a firefight. For instance: Alpha SL rambo's into a fight leaving his squad in cover behind him. Doesn't ask for suppressing fire, just rushes it. Then screams over VOIP asking where I was with the rez... I told him when he could realize that I am not Ms Cleo and if he let me know (The Medic) that he was rushing the muzzle flashes without his team I'd be happy to oblige.... with the rest of the team in-tow. I rezzed him and he got killed again, so I rezzed him 1 more time, then I got killed... He started yelling at me about healing him after he dies... I told him he was a tool for running in, and I wasn't rezzing him again...I left the squad and joined the "better squad"
Or even better, when players in Medium armor on Al Basrah destroy your assets because they don't feel like going AROUND the VCP to camp the cars speeding in.... It's a strongpoint.. my job as a commander is making sure no infantry gets in or has 1 helluva hard time getting in....

Don't you have the ability in game to evit the CO if he's being stupid. If the Sl is **** you walk and set up your own squad. Pr is about reality i reckon this argument is pretty realistic - like rela life in the military you get born leaders and guys who are in it for the points(medals) - other side of the coin if guys don't get the chance to practice the tools available how do they learn.....................

Actually, Real World militaries have schools to teach their officers... OTS and you must have spent some time in a military division or was part of a specialized unit...
PR's version: Watching Demo files that are available on most servers I've played on.
**EDIT**
Also, There are some servers that have "mutiny" disabled...

thing is - if you take out the voting option (which makes players vote every few seconds for some kind of map or kicking some kind of player) you take out the mutiny button as well. Would be nice to just have the mutiny button... but it seems it won't work atm.

there are some good commanders, and there are some dire ones.
When I play as a SL, about 50% of the time there's a commander in place. I like to think I have a very tactical head on me. The reason why I don't go commander myself all the time is that I have only recently got to get to grips with the commander assets available.
By looking at the map as a SL, I will happily give the CO sitreps, request further orders when my squad's role has been completed etc. If things are going pear shaped I will also suggest a few things to the commander, but would never tell him his job. It's great when the commander can do his job well. Even if the team loses, having an effective commander peaks my enjoyment of that particular game because that's the point of the mod.
Unfortunately you get commanders who will happily sit at your main during the whole match and build assets around the flag. At an uncappable. Which is fine at the start, but the assets could possibly be better placed. It's up to him to get his team organised as he has the ability to sit back and watch the bigger picture unfold. He should get his team's collective *** in gear at the start, co-ordinate his team to grab a few flags with, then start with the meat of his available assets, where they will be useful.
I certainly do not agree with jumped up SLs though. If they feel they could do a better job then they should have applied for the commander role themselves. Until then, they should remind themselves that they *should* have the view that the CO is the boss, and that the CO *should* be working again on the bigger picture. It's all too easy for a SL not to be looking at the overall effect of an order, and just want to go out for kills.
