gods i'm sick of ejod. so....

here's the beef. both teams do EXACTLY the same thing, every time, and almost invariably usmc loses. all usmc will rush to gas station, then all the armor will drive to the high ground to the east and maybe one squad will head to the west with heavy at. in the mean time, mec will head to the west and camp out the high ground there, usually with apc's heading into the city from the west / north west. usmc will be slowly pushed back from west to east and then south until they loose gas station and then the high ground to the north of gas station means game over for usmc.

i am very very bored with this.

so, usmc players, here you go:

you only need one squad to cap gas station. you do not need the entire frickin team. assign one squad and get on with things.

move one or both tanks out west, one at range, one pushing in. you do not need a tank on the high ground to the east, all they're doing there is attracting a lot of fire and, against a good team, doing very little. in the meantime, the mec tanks and apc's out to the west will be raping usmc forces. use your tanks to counter the mec tanks and apc's coming from the north. make it so that when mec tries to occupy the high ground in the west, they get a nasty surprise. if you get an apc to commit to the west, push forwards and occupy the high ground and you have one hell of a position.

apc's: move one east, one west. keep the one to the east well behind the dunes and well defended for the traditional usmc ejod assault but use the other to push up the west side.

remember if you can get to west city and push north just a teensy bit you can fire right onto the main mec base.

feel free to post counter/alternative strategies :P i'm just sick of the same rubbish strategy being used again and again.

i am, of course, making one fatal flaw in my reasoning: i'm assuming a team will work this well togther.

you know.. this is kinda things you dont tell EVERYBODY.. ;p but now its too late. but yeah. changing tactics is always good. but do it ingame. with your teammates. communication makes your team have a better chance winning. let this be a lecture to all

somtimes it works somtimes it won't but rushing the ruin/gardens can make for a intresting round! ;)

I was watching a round, where USMC won Ejod on BFR - turns out, they had a squad of those RGG guys, who play ArmA on their team.
I actually smiled, when two guys flanked an APC and like 15 MEC soldiers and they killed both MEC snipers, even after they made a lot of noise killing the MEC Rifleman, then managed to get one AT4 shot at the BTR, forcing him to pull out.
And they killed me with a few shots from ironsighted M16, since I was on MEC.
Not like the idiots, who think, they need a sniper for everything, thats further than 50 m

just my view for this map is that it needs a flag overhaul(good map but the flags need adjusting seeing as the map has opend up so much!)

Ah I've seen the USMC win many times. Really depends on the situation.

I've seen USMC win loads of times.

I really like this map, a good HAT can easily take out any tanks or APCs camped on the hills.

Quite a lot of variation to this map and I love the removal of the punish zones making it seem so wide. Loads of different tactics you can use depending on the other team and how well your own team works.

But the OP is right the whole team doesn't need to go to the same flag to cap it. It will cap no quicker whether you have 4 people in the cap zone or 32 in the cap zone.

I've been on a USMC winning side loads of times.

Ejod is well balanced map. It's just a case of the team communicating and having people pushing the players to each point.

QFT - but sometimes I have the impression, it just depends on which side has the faster PCs on their side. And, as the OP said - you do not need the whole team on the first flag. One squad to gas station, one to ruins, and the rest pushing forward.

Thats a top idea. So major city map would be awesome. Basrah has one of the biggest city areas on a map I can think of, although it is quite open still.

Would it not cause extreme lag and slow performance for people if there were a huge number of static objects or does it not work like that?

I love Ejod and as far as Ive noticed more people tend to ignore flags at the beginning and just move forward as much as possible (actually that could be said for almost all maps). I never saw the entire team capping the first flag.

But the reason the MEC win almost every game is scoped G3 and the fact that its much easier for MEC side to defend the city if both city flags are capped. And its easier to attack ruins than it is gardens.
