I have basically finished moddifying the dirtbike to lean, i feel it looks and feels more realistic now but im happy to hear feedback and suggestions.
I started this as a suggestion in the suggestion forum but as i developed it myself i went on to use the same thread (so it ended up being in the wrong section). you can see the origional thread by searching for "dirtbike" in the suggestion forum.
this version still includes multiple camera views, I left them in for testing but i will happily remove them if you ask me. there is a readme file in there with it, to help instalation, but it has a mistake
Flan wrote:i found a slight mistake in the Readme, where it says:
"go into E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_EDIT\objects"
you need to replace the "pr_EDIT" bit with your mod name
I was hoping this could be added to the new patch but let me know what you think.

Looks cool. I guess the big thing for me would be, how does it actually feel driving it. If it really does feel better, then I think it should go in the mod.

Try it out! lol thats what the files are there for.
At the moment the only downside is that it leans the same amount at all speeds (although it doesnt really bother me personally, in fact its kind of realistic anyway :S), i do think this can be fixed though as i found a variable in the Bf2 editor, under "rotation" in rotational bundles, that says "lesser yaw at speed". I have no idea how to use this function, what it really does and if it even works. if anyone knows any of the above please help.

Thats a cool little piece of realistic eye candy. If it aint to much to ask i think the DEVs should throw this in the game.

Woah what's that 360 spin about after you ride down that rocky edge? Couldn't help noticing that you clipped that bridge pretty badly without any nasty repercussions. It's coming along very nicely though. Sorry to sound overly harsh cos you've done an awesome job with it, and I can imagine the engines hardly perfect for this kinda thing.

Ok well im back online now, was busy trying to set it up since i got to Uni.
Guess i just missed the patch but oh well. Ive been working on the bike quite a bit more and i would say its about 10x beter than my last version although of course there are still quite a few bugs.
New features include:
Even less damage taken from terrain; ability to use terrain as ramps for hopping walls (without instantly exploding as before); slight engine adjustments for a more realistic top speed; a new experimental camera view including visable arms!
Downsides are:
still taking more damage from terrain than it should realistically - as i have said before i cant get rid of this problem without someone helping me by modifying the collision mesh of the bike; for some reason the bike has a slight stearing irregularity (it pulls ever so slightly to the left when it should be going straight) but i cant find the source of this problem; the new camera view looks awsome if i dont say so myself but has 1 problem , you cant turn your head
At the moment the camera view is using the chase cam so it renders the driver but i cant work out how to get this to turn, i have tried making the camera itself rotate and the "camera mount" it is attached to also but with no luck (even with both of these rotating the chase cam is unnafected). If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
I will post a video soon.
Edit: I just found out the wierd stearing to left bug was actually in the original unmodified version also, still im trying to fix it.
That is a perfectO! mommameeA!
Do the quad next
I love the emmersive effect of seeing your hands and leaning,

Very Nice, although the handle bars move to far, and don't lean far enough.
