A Farewell to Arms

It's not so common here on the forums to anounce your goodbye as in comparison to saying hello to everybody.

Though, the quality of this game/mod and its community deserve it.

I really had great time with game; initially my roommate infected me with Battlefield 2 (vanilla, self-evident). Quickly I got bored and so I found this mod.
At the beginning it was difficult not to lose patience but in the last month or two I think I got along with the gameplay quite well.

For this I was "training" quite intensively, kind of every night for a couple of hours. This wouldn't be a problem if we all lived a world full of abundance and man lived an eternity. The world is running not really that like; also I started working as of this Monday in a law firm. Anybody knowing somebody in this branch would confirm that job isn't "eating candies".

To get to my point: this game is so great that I can't arrange it with the so called real life. At this point of my life one has to dig in and make some serious commitment for your life, career and stuff.

I decided un-installing was the step to be done, which I did last Friday. Yeah, no accute withdrawal synthoms so far ;-)

Is there anything this game has given to me?
There were many memorable moments for sure; I even had to honour of leading a squad a couple of times, mostly EJOD and to some extent Sunset City, too. In particular I remember our squad, Waehring, defending as MEC the Western City against waves of enemies, all successfully repelled.
Another interesting map was Gulf of Oman WAC, a splendid opportunity for combined air and ground forces, launching the D Day.

There were squadleaders and teammates whose names I don't remember by heart now, though, they all contributed to living a kind of esprit de corps, making this game so enjoyable.

I liked playing at Thore's Brigade for the reason of a very low ping but admittedly the best teamwork I experienced was at the Tactical Gamer. I hope for my part that I made a good teammate.

I want to thank to you all.

My last remark shall be that you developers made a such a good game that I needed to put the breaks on, stop playing it.

Live long and prosper :-o

GAME OVER
