How about giving us Engy's a better shovel?

Simple suggestion.
As it is now people dont appreciate us Engy's for what we do(Unless it's a building Squad) Squadleaders rarely want an Engy in the squad unless it's for planting mines or Blowing stuff with c4(But the spec ops has their slams and well you know) Rifleman have the same shovel as us and they take away our jobs and love from CO, But the crewman does'nt have the same wrench as us! So i was thinking would it be possible to give us a better shovel that builds faster?
It would bring back respect to the kit(and make SL's stop hating me for going sapper)

i always play as engie,
a hell of allot more useful than Spec Ops
And you know what, i have body armor.

Doesn't make any sense for a SL to dislike the Sapper kit. At the rate that the British APCs respawn, it's a very worthwhile kit to have.

I play Engy a lot, and what we lack more than a "better" shovel are smoke grenades.

Because the Bizon is not a good weapon to use against any assault rifle.
If my SL asks me to be Medic i will ask to be sapper instead.
I prefer to be Sapper over medic because the Bizon>PPsh in almost every situation other then CQC(which is rare in Mestia) And since i rock at planting AT mines right where the apc has to pass i get alot of easy kills.
Also when building CO assets it's usually the Rifleman who build it whilst us engy's stand by looking useless.

The only way to up the Engi shovel capability as I see it would be to make it so that the Engi can build a bunker/asset alone or nerf the Rifleman's so that it takes longer/more people to build assets.
Neither of those are really good, since it's often hard enough as it is to get things built. I personally wouldn't mind a lone Engi being able to build but I think that wouldn't be too realistic or good for teamwork.

Crewmans are loosing the wrench in upcoming patch (so Ive heard) which will make engys the only ones capable or repairing armor thus increasing their role and value 10 fold

x2. Engineer is a utmost valuable kit, but the smoke is a huge loss.

Yup, why doesn't the Engy have armour anyway? Seems like the last kit that would dealing with all those explosives. Does anyone know what the deal with making C4 more powerful is by the way?

the engineer does, all classes have armor now except the spec ops

No, its a simple logic:
Spawn as a Rifleman, Engy or Medic, you have body armor, and if you request another kit, you still keep your armor.
If you spawn as Spec Op, it does't matter, which kit you request, you will still have no body armor, because SF kit does not have an armor.

It's not how we would like, but it's how the engine works... the body armor is defined by body type and not kit type.
on-topic: I would really like smokes for the engy, but we didn't have space for more items.

Get rid of the shovel and make wrenches able to build bunkers and such?

I think engineers should be the only ones with shovoles because IRL, they are trained in countruction/destruction and auto repair aswell. And the rifleman should not have a shovel since a the kit is godly enough and b they arent trained in construction.

They are trained in entrenching themselves, digging fox/spider holes and the like.
