The "Khrimson" music featured i think on the al basrah map is stolen. It is actually a song called polynomial-c made by Aphex Twin in 1995.

I remember it being used on the 0.5 version.

If you still use it, at least say by who it was made.

it infact came with a map that was in the mod in v0.3 and i think also v0.4 called something security area. We kept it in the mod cos duckhunt wanted to use it for his map music and with no links to who it was etc we took it was made by the guy who made the map or something like that, but couldn't contact him after he had let us use his map.

if you want to contact Aphex Twin for us and ask if its ok or if he wants it removed would be good

How could you guys do this? GOD, have you no shame? You should always give credit, even though the players don't give a shit about the music, and would probably forget who made it as soon as the map changed; the band probably lost hundreds in album sales! I did not know PR devs are so morally bankrupt.

try reading my last post...

dunno about anyone else but i have my music turned to 0%... have done that since 0.25.... to me the songs get old too fast

As rhino said there is a reason. Most people did not even know the name of the song let alone the album so I highly doubt they even lost 1 sale.

Aphex Twin is not a band and not multiple people. It is one man. Richard D. James. Shame on you all for not knowing this and for not having listened to his excellent work.

Still, all music should be removed if copyrighted till the owners agree to its use.

Could just ask the community of thousands of players if they have created any decent music tracks they want to donate to the Mod that they think are useable?

That had me laughing! I guessed someone would think you were having a go

Surely if the map was made by a 3rd party and submitted to the PR team, the "blame" (although I'm not sure anyone really cares enough to place any "blame") then it is the 3rd party who is out of line.

If I steal something and sell it to someone, and fail to mention it is stolen goods, you cannot then persecute the guy who bought it/received it.

Anyway, the music is pertty plain. 80 seconds of it while wiating forthe map to load is enough, scew having an entire album of it

i love some music in that game... enought to realy want them so if DEV team can release a "music pack" whit all song of the Mod it can be coooooooooool

If having the map is bordering on unacceptable releasing the music too would jsut be taking the pi$$
