Green SL smoke is underused

I did a search, but couldn't find anything that was related to this.. If this has been suggested before, please remove this thread.

As much as I love the green SL smoke, it's hardly ever used. There are some adjustments that can be made to this, if you ask me. First of all it should be a lot thicker. This transparent-green smoke is hardly noticible at times (also depends what map you're using it on). Thickening the smoke (almost as thick as the pilot-smoke) would be a good improvement. With thickening I *don't* mean that it should act like the pilot-smoke (!).

The green smoke is intended for pickups, but I've never ever seen anyone use it for that purpose. I almost never see it used either. I throw it once in a while, 'cause I think it looks cool, but that's about it...
I suggest to remove the "requesting a pickup" talk, since one might want to use it for different purposes.

What can we improve about the smoke grenade to make it a more valuable 'asset' of PR?

Above all: how is this thing used in real combat situations? We should of course stick with reality, not some coolness factor.

I use it for my Bombers so they can just bomb the green smoke, Also for pickups or even marking a cache.

The reason it's underused because the picture is not in the HUD when scrolling through you requipment. Some people don't use the number keys or press F to cycle through all equipment.

I use it all the time.

Personally I think it should go up higher.

I use it to call in chopper extracts (that is when there is actually a pilot doing that, hard to find lately :( ). I call for a pickup and then mark it with the smoke.

I would like to see a chopper icon or something else appear on the map when someone calls for a pickup, sort of like in EOD. I am not sure if it is when you call for it, or if you toss smoke, but a chopper appears on teh map at your location. WOuld be a nice addition to the plume of smoke going up because sometimes chopper pilots don't know where to start looking.

Probably my memory acting up but I though it used to? Seems a bit lame now if it actually has changed. But yes it needs to go up MUCH higher then it does.

I do try to use it but most people who fly choppers seem to have their own agenda most of the time. I think the problem with that is alot of the time that they need there own squads, which rarely happens, and you need a commander to properly communicate between the chopper and the squad, which there isn't alot of the time.

Make it go up higher way higher and thicker that way it will look more cool and more people might use it.

This reminds me of the time I requested a pilot kit on Kufrah when we, MEC, lost all flags and we were stuck at the base. I then went into the ammo cache piles near the base and I started throwing a bunch of red smoke grenades randomly. Then I heard a bunch of tanks and .50 cals firing. I then threw them at the tanks from where they were firing to cover there vision. Next day, I saw the battlerecorder and noticed that the smoke wasn't even close to the tanks :p
