I sugest as you gain ranks and progress your stats go up such as Acuracy (basicall you have a higer chance of hitting a stationary target at range in a single shot) your stamina (you can run thurther and faster) and your strength goes up (heavier kits can be run with for longer distances and faster)

would this work devs?

I hate every kind of ranking system ...

First... that would be really stupid. So the more you play the better you get? Not just from yourself improving your skill but because the game also do that? Then no newbies would want to play at all since they wouldn't have a chance. It's stupid enough that you get more weapons if you play more.

Second... It's simply not possible. EA hasn't allowed any mods into their ranking system. And I doubt they will ever do that... particularly with that kind of feature.

RPGS are stupid when the game istself should be based on skill. That is one major fault with vanilla BF2. They noobafied the game so that it wasnt skill based.

Rank is bullshit, it means nothing. Shooting skill lies in the shooter, if you cant do it, its you. Weapons are designed to be accurate, the same weapon in the hands of different people will give varying results, but thats the shooter and not the weapon.

NO NO NO to anything that levels you up, gives you some sort of artificial advantage over another person playing with the same stuff.

Shooting game skillz are all based on your brain.

the reason im interested in a modern combat MMORPG has nothing to do with skill, but a search for a more "realistic" military simulation, all the things outside of pure combat that can be included in an MMO, essentially the "Roleplaying" part where you do training are in Units etc etc etc (AA had alot of this)

RPG to me means leveling up stuff. I dont see how that would be realistic in a military type game with FPS. Everything is equipment based, and the only advantage experience should give is more knowlege of how the combat works and such.

I think what you are talking about is just a massive scale shooter, like if you were to combine planet side with AA. Actually such a game exists but its not modern. WWII online, is probably the most realistic mil game thats online. Ive tried it but there its feels like being a grain of sand in the sahara. No action really and when you do find it your life expectancy as a rookie is zilch.

my idea was skill based because any one can line up the cross hairs on some one's head and pull the trigger but it's weather the round hits that matters. this would be skill bassed because you have to achieve to get better in real life so why can't it be translated in to a rank system for PRMM. real soldiers mature and get better through time and i was wandering if that could be transferd into this MOD. so please don't flame.

So you are saying that you should some how become a better shot over time?
If you apply that to the context of the game, the soldiers we are playing as are trained before they would ever get to combat.

You could say that a sniper would be a better shot will all weapons than a medic , and a special forces guy would be a better shot than an assault guy.

But making this different for every person who plays is detrimental to the game imo. Like in AA you had to qual before you could even play online, and you would be ranked accordinly, BUT it was purely YOU as the shooter that determined how good a shot you are, NOT the game.

I say this is a bad idea waste of time. You need teamwork to win thats all

@Heydude235: you seem to think a lot of things are a waste of time. Why don't contribute to the discussion by elaborate that a little more?

@Hitperson: I'm sorry if you feel flamed. Don't think anyone meant that. But your suggestion is as far from promoting skill as you can come. Not everyone can line up the cross hairs on someone's head and pull the trigger and do this in the heat of battle and do it faster than the other guy. There is a lot of other stuff to this game though than just shooting, but with your suggestion a very bad player that don't really have any skill but has played for some time and got some rank, would have an advantage over a very skilled player that has just got the game. That isn't really fair. And it wouldn't be a game I'd like to play. We should all play by the same rules and conditions. It should be the players skill only that decides if he win or loose

I honestly hope that your comment is dripping with invisible sarcasm, because if that is an honest comment then I believe the community here may have a few things to say to you.

*Steps aside to get out of the way of the onrushing mob of highly trained professional soldiers who represent the higher echelon of the Project Reality community.*

No i meant for it to be aplied to the individual weapon
