Road To Baghdad type map

Someone most likely has had this idea before but would anyone be interested in a map where the Americans basicly moved up a highway type road through small villages? Kind of like the Fallujah map but as a fight up a highway.
Just some thoughts would be that:
- The insurgents would not be able to get on or cross the highway inside the villages *minus the large villages* this would keep people from filling the streets with IED's and ruin the idea of the map(dome of death type thing)
- MBTs, LAVs, Hummers would be not able to get off the highway but Infantry would be able to move through the villages to cap the flags.
- there would be stretches of road where there would be no villages which would allow for the Insurgents to setup a new attack at the next village.
- First villages could just be a small area around the highway were Insurgents could spawn on either side in multiple spawn areas.
- During the stretches of road the Convoy would have to remain on the highway and would not be able to get off it. (prevents goings around the villages)**Arguable**
- Following villages would be more extensive to were there could be smaller roads that the tanks/apcs/hummers could get off the highway and move through the village to assist the Infantry.
Now that i have constructed an extermly crude drawing of the idea let me explain it alittle.
In the red squares it would be a small village: few destroyable buildings mostly trenches and small palm groves.
Stretches of roads dont have to have bare ground around them but small hills or places for people to hide. random destroyablle houses not many though.
the red circles would be more extensive villages with roads off the highway and not all destroyable buildings but lots of buildings.
Let me remind you its a very crude drawing just for an idea of what im
talking about.
I can't map and this is just an idea for a map. if you like it ... you can make it or find someone who like it to make it.
Open to Suggestions on this and thoughts.

way too many spawn points. But maybe at the end the start of the city.

Alright before anyone else says anything about spawn points ... I know theres alot but thats just to give people the idea of the area of the spawn points not the numbers.

That would be a great map, but maybe a straight road would be nicer, makes it more highway like

Stying together would be idle but i know that would not happen neccessarily. I just think of it as a good chance to have a bitchin convoy but mainly for capping the villages.

I have an idea. Because for statics you set a collusion mesh for vehicles and another for infantry it should be possible to make it that ONLY vehicles can pass through an area so that no infantry can go out on their own. This will make the convoy stay a convoy better.

No IEDs for Insurgents? Whats the fun in that.

I never said no IEDs. Just no IEDs in the villages. Thats just to keep from spamming them and stopping the game basiclly. If you want to camp out in the desert and place an IED on a stretch of road have at it.
And I think you can still have fun without IEDs ... you know Sniping ... like Juba is really known for...

Why deprive the insurgents of one of their main weapons? Why stop vehicles from moving off of the highway when this added mobile firepower can't be used for best effect? You don't want vehicles going into the village? Well make it so that a vehicle is hindered when going into them, tight streets, lots of debris hiding mines, back alleys allowing for sneak attacks etc.
The whole idea feels gamey. Why wouldn't insurgents be allowed to mine the streets? Why wouldn't they be allowed to place IEDs wherever they please? If the US force has to clear out an area like this why would they stick to one singular road which is one singular route of attack? Especially when they have so much mobility and the roads are heavily defended.
I like the idea of a highway map, comprised of a few small villages and what have you. But adding in lots of 'rules' which limit the way the map is played and how each village can be captured seems...well, it seems stupid.

Ok. Dont block themfrom getting on the highway. have half the team spawn as ambushers at the first village, layer the road with IEDs and try to have a good time having all your armor and vehicle get blown up at the begnning and walk the rest of the map.
Did you ever see the roads to Baghdad that they used? The Strategy of the 2003 Invasion was to get to Baghdad not screw around with the surrounding areas. They remained on the main highways going through the villages eliminating whatever attacked them. Later they had infantry that would move through the villages. And since it is a Road to Baghdad type map ... (hints the title) there is no need for another highway. They used highways because wheeled vehicles would get bogged down in the sand where treads would have no problem.
IEDs were not the main way of attack during this part of the invasion so limiting them to how and were they would be effective is somewhat realistic.
And it might feel gamey .. cause well its a game and there has to be rules placed because then it would just clusterFu** the intire idea with stupidty and there are many ways that the idea could be exploited. The rules wouldbe there just to make the map enjoyable and not a burden. Its a rule not to TK now isnt it? So dont be surprised with rules.

Then don't use the road? Attack the village from different directions? Use wrenches to remove mines? Or kill the Insurgents, knocking out the IED's?
Did you not read my post properly, only seeing the part allowing Insurgents to place IED's wherever? Al-Basrah and Desert Storm, how many times have you seen an APC or a Hummer get blown up by an IED or a mine? Not much. Most of the time its RPG's or Jihad cars.

More roads... defeats the purpose of the map.
Ambushers dont even have to sit there and watch they can place IEDs and run off and have their friend sit off and watch. One word VOIP. Their dead friend laying on the side of the road can sit there and tell the Ambusher everything that he needs to know. That is how IEDs would ruin it. If you cant kill him then your stopped. You cant disable it.

How many jeeps and Warriors in Basrah have i seen get IEDed ... alot. But your right its not common to see them in Desert Storm because well... there are no roads to IED ...
This has nothing to do with the rest but you did bring it up, that RPGs and Jihad cars would have to be avaliable in the villages to counter the tanks instead of the IEDs.

I must sayu that in 0.5 it was a common thing but itr lost itself in 0.6. i mostly see a RPG or Jihad now a days.

It happens alot on Basrah. When I'm playing anyway. *hint* IED the bridges *hint*.
I agree with the OP on this one, the purpose of the map is for the US forces to get the road leading to the city. Get their convoy to the end of the map or someart like that right?
So from a gameplay view, it would ruin it all to have the entire road mined and what not. The US atleast should have a chance of winning.
Maybe allow for IED's further up the road.
