The Solo Commander

I would like to shear few things I have figured out on commanding without a lot of support. Lets say you set up your command post at the main and cannot get anyone to wrench it for you? NP suicide, come back as a combat engineer and do it your sell. Now request your commander kit and drop a truck like the kids at the pool and you are off to the races. At this point there good chances that your team has taken the first flag seeing as how they left you in out in the cold at the start. After riding on the commandforce01 to the fist flag you threw up some barbwire her and there to live up the place. Next a bunker for access to the ammo and the kits. I have had some luck hiding the bunker and some using it to block off routs. If you find a good place for the bunker but then cannot find anyone with a shovel rinse and repeat steps 1 and 1a. Suicide and pop up with a rifleman kit on your command truck. Work the shovel magic on the bunker rereqeust you commanders kit now shot a few ******* .
Hope this helps

While that does work, it's also very wasteful and means you're outta the game a lot. As for the Command Post, just spawn as an Engi, request kit, drop the post and pick your engi kit back up. As long as you keep swapping between Engi and Officer they'll stay alive and you can use the officer kit once it's repaired.

Couple of problems with your ideas.
Suicide gives you a bad score and gives you a 1 minute spawn time. A better way would be to spawn engineer, request commander kit, spawn command post, swap kits, wrench and then grab your commander kit back. Be quick so that the commander kit does not disappear, I usually pick it up half way through wrenching just in case.
You can't set barbed wire before making the bunker so your ordering is off.
Placing the bunker to block of routes makes it more vulnerable to enemy fire and creates an inconvenience for friendlies. Use sandbags to block instead.
You can't finish a bunker with a single shoveler so suiciding and coming back will not be an advantage. Better to type in the team chat, "I need shovels at X base"

This isn't how the Commander asset is supposed to be played. Isn't it supposed to encourage teamplay? Like a lot of the other gameplay changes the mods have made.
When CO's can't get their team to support them it either means a. they suck as CO or b. the team is full of uncommunicative 1337 s010i5t5 or just noobs. In both instances there is no point in even continuing as commander.
CO's should get say a 4-minute respawn timer and say -300 points for suiciding.
Imagine if our CO's in RL just suicided whenever things got tough and comms breakdown.
Just my two cents.

I think the trick is to get engineers to you before you start building. Send a message to all players saying 'I need engineers to [location] to help build fortifications'. If no one arrives, don't bother to place buildings. If an engineer or two appears, get to work!

Hiya Dreyer, I hear what you're saying but it's so much more fun to drive around with StrkTm members in the Command Truck!
PS: Big thanks to Silly_Savage, [DVB]Mystic_Warrior, StrkTm Pygar and StrkTm Bullseye from last night, your Commander salutes you.

Im afraid this thread does not support the Ethos of the mod, which is reality.
It's effectively endorsing and spreading the use of exploit.
