Battlefield vietnam's communist army has some stuff that we could apply to the insurgent and milita in PR :
-They can booby trap vehicule
-Set up booby traps
-Dismantle vehicules
-and They can dig tunnel (more or less some kind of respawn point in the game)
These are just suggestons that maybe could be applied to PR

i know digging isnt possible, but booby traps or disabling vehicles might be pretty cool. have a stealth aspect to it. i think its a good idea.
dont know if it can really be executed in pr, but still sounds cool.

Doesn't highlight the reality of today. That was Asia and that was the 1960's. Today insurgents use remote controlled explosives, IED's, suicide bombs....

When the CF went into afganistan, they had to deal with hundreds of booby trapped houses

There are many ways to set a trap. IRL put a nade to a dead soul and expect what will happen when someone comes to pick him up.
As for vehicles it wouldn't be something. It's not preferred to enter someones base and take kills. And the vehicles are found at the bases. When they are on the road there little thing to do to set a trap.
Insurgents already have IED that somehow work the same as traps. Setting traps into houses wouldn't do much on the insurgent maps, as long there is no one the forces have been told is in a house where they should go to take him out.
Having one booby trap in the game will get request for all sorts of traps, so I don't think it goes anyfarther.
What kind of traps have you in mind?

I never knew that was possible. I should get Vietnam out sometime and have a go. Wonder why they didn't use thoose features in BF2 though?

You now those booby traped roadkills, bodys, abandonned friendly vehicules, houses with their walls full of explosives
Probably anything on what you could put an explosive that a soldier would be interested in cheking

Good question. I never even heard of BF: V until I was already playing BF2. From what I've heard of BF:V it had leetpwn features...

BF:V was the tweaked 1942 engine. AFAIK the BF2 engine is, if not completely different, sufficiently rebuilt to change some things, so I doubt a lot could be ported.
I never really got into BF:V, it seemed a lot like a stopgap "how can we milk the franchise a bit before we make BF2, with minimal effort?" game.

Yea BF:V had really cool features but most were half ***'d and didnt work properly.

Still, with a couple of tweaks, it could work
let say, setting a booby trap in an ennemie car (playing as insurgents)
1- the car/apc should be outside a base and should be empty of souls
2- we should need C4/Slams as the explosives, and maybe a bit of rope
3- only some ennemie Kit can see the traps and disable them (probably engeneer)
If you can get a hold on BF : Vietnam, try it out, its fun

the Huey being able to carry vehicles around was really cool.
