People need to support

okay, this is not an off-shoot of the un nerf medic thread, i'm not suggesting making medic leet

is there any way to make medic or engie more prominent in the field with support actions?

I played for two and a half hours a little while ago and of the 20 something times i died i was not revived once.

i saw two apc's and a tank start smoking, then catch fire, then blow up, requesting engie support but no one would help them out.

i revived about 3 or 4 people.

on average, there was like .15 medics in my squad. the only thing the engie's did was sit at the uav trailer and commander assets and keep them from self destructing.

it was terrible

I agree, I dont think i've been revived since .5
dont think this belongs in this forum though, the devs can't exactly do anything about this. might want to move to gen. discuss

We tryed getting this problem fix with the sedgestion of adding a scope or zoom to the medic kit it whould get people to go medic and heal and revived but people attacked it saying it did not need a scope or zoom so nothing in the end came about so the problem remains.

I Would Agree but:

Yes, to build Bunkers.. which are useful.. becuase you can spawn on them, since APCs are getting there spawnpoints removed in 0.7, looking after assets is much more required if there down or damaged.

Anyway, I've seen Engies repair.. but the main problem is that the Tanks/APCs expect the Engies to rush to them in any position.. i've seen some requested engineer on ejod when there on the Hills.

In my Opinion, it depends on whos playing it.. I usually go Engineer if Medic is not needed and built commander assets... but i aint going to risk my life running over to a tank in the middle of Ejod just lazily sitting there. What i'm trying to say is that the Real Problem is people using the APC/tanks that don't get that retreating is a GOOD idea

Why the spawn points on APC'are getting removed?
And i do agree on giving mmedics a scope.

-Due people using APCs as spawn points, leaving them in a ditch to hop out every time, they die

-people constantly spawning on the APC while he's driving, wanting out, then curse at the driver, when he drives off as they just selected Sniper kit from the back door. Other words, using the APC as if it was their personal armory to choose Marksman/Sniper, every time they die.

-people spawning on driver seat and making IFV dance and other APCs get the no turret gun ammo bug, rendering the APC useless.

-the name of the vehicle is Armored Personnel Carrier, not Armored Spawn Vehicle

And so on...

I mean unless you are fighting on kashan from one bunker roof to the other the scope just becomes annoying because of the 4x zoom.

I like the zoom, because due my graphics I always have to figure out, which pixel is shooting at me. :p

It is all about the players. Before you join the squad look carefully what they are doing. If most of squad members are close to each other then join the squad. If most of squad members are spread all over the map then don't join the squad (don't expect teamwork from them).

I feel bad for the guy,

Seriously, I often run out of defibrillator juice in tight situations. However, I rarely get revived myself (and I think I only had somebody pick up my kit to revive me once).

I explain why the scope is super cool, say and enemy is 13 meters away (or 30 in this game  because a meter in BF2 is not 100cm) he has a scope you don’t has behind cover has behind cover his top of his torso is excursed and his head and arms are as well the rest is obscured same applies for you, you fire at him but your view and aim is obscured be the sights and gun you have no magnification what so ever and your target is small almost impossible to hit so all your shots miss, the guy with the scope snickers at you looks down his scope that magnifies his target and fires one shot at your head and your brains are all over the floor and he’s done that in almost 1.7 seconds.

But you all had basic first aid right I thought you solders where trained to be self sufficient and given basic first aid training so you know all know how to stabilize a patient (stop bleeding what not) so you did not need so many medics per campany If not you should be taught first aid i recomend every one including you learn this if you don't know it usefull to know.

What we need is rather than the current system is
1) unlimited combat lifesaver rifleman for healing wounded comrades
and
2) requestable, limited lightly armed corpsman for revivals
That way there is a dedicated civilian equivalent in the conventional militaries, the mod goes a further step towards realism and players now have a better chance of being revived if they play as a unit because the goal of the corpsman would be reviving and healing only, as opposed to killing or capping flags

I have revived a ton of people on Kufrah at one of the flags we were holding. Also, now that Spec Ops will supposedly be limited, there is hope there will be more engineers and medics on the battlefield.

Kyongan Ni and was medic the whole round.

314 Teamwork points
15 heal points
11 revives
3 flag captures
334 medic points

All on the "top player" scorebord sheets... Go medics!

Kufrah, whole round medic

324 Teamwork points
13 heals
10 revives
450 medic points

A true medic whore score:
