Parachute Spawn Point

A Commander asset that the commander deploys anywhere on the map (except within 100meters of uncapable) which is a parachute spawn point (such as that seen in the Special Forces map, Warlod) at a high altitude. It only lasts for only 2 minutes and then must wait 20 minutes to be redeployed. This allows on mass deployment of infantry behind enemy lines.
Devs, is this possible?
Masses, what do you think?

If the ''air spawnpoint'' has an minimum distance off 300 mtrs it should be good i think,, otherwise you could be able to parachute down on a flag in ease..
Im off,

They had a parachute spawn on the Arifield map in 0.7 and it was terrible. All MEC had to do is to put a tank near that spawn and its raining Brits...
And commander can already place firebases why would we need a parashute spawn? so everyone can see where you coming from?

yeah PR was awesome back in the days of .7
go back to your time period

uh..
.7? wha?
no, I don't think the chute spawn will be a problem.
for one, its not fixed, like in airfield.
second, airfield was unrealistic, you can't have an airplane sittin up there for an hour just dropping ppl off. its everyone off at once, and i think the 2 min idea in the commander spawn is a good idea.
its like the commander is sendin a plane up there. pretty cool eh?

No, don't do this.
Parachuting should be for those elite enough to be able to clear a bunker on Kashan only using a pilot kit.

To return on original idea...
Well it sounds interesting and it can be easy acomplished via supply crate drop wich is spavnable and damaged enough to crashe/destroy on ground impact.
So players spawn on that item while is still in the air and they parachute down and commander determine where that drop is going to happaen.
this could be verry interesting on certain maps.

About the supply crate idea, what happens if the crate goes below ~150m?

Splata!!! you run out of luck...
Ok, now seriously! That can be also adressed via damage state on crate so that he explodes while still in the air.

I can only hope. Just imagine it, 2 whole squads of infantry dropping in and completly changing the tide of battle. Could be a very useful tool.

Heh, my crew of regular gamers did it with the MEC chopper and pilot kits. We took and held south bunker because of it.

Pilot kits rock! I love pistols
But on topic, this would lead to a lot spam imo.. Put it on the enemy base and no more enemy. You can't even fight them except to try to shoot them out of the air, no planes to shoot down or something. Whether make them very limited or don't put them in.

Good idea, like most have suggested it'd need to be limited though.

Well, paratroopers usualy do that to the war tide.
They turn it to your favour (mostly).
Anyway, this is so an alternative way to spawn wich lasting time is limited to few minutes.
