13th MEU (PR Clan) uses actual ranks and MOS's as positions within the clan. (i.e. a helo pilot is xxxx mos, while a tanker is xxxx mos, and infantry is xxxx mos).

~Vanworth

back to the question though, no... dont think the Dev's have any plans for doing infared/temp/nightvision. Although i do believe i remember seeing them say something about trying to make the driver more interesting...

Yeah I remember that too; I thought they meant adding the CROWS turret; the driver could man the .50cal, while the "Commander" position, would have a M240.

Are there any maps that require nightvision or infra red imaging?

Not to my knowledge.

Hey buddy, if you had any sense on military, you would understand MOS (military Operational Speciality) those digits indicate your direct training and your ability in the profession in the military, The Marines use digits only, such as 0300 is Basic Infantry man, So on so forth, and 1800's is Tank and heavy armor~ 1811 is Crewmen. Now the US Army Uses Digits and letters to varify their MOS's. And Also It's the US Military, you should've seen that after the 13th MEU <Marine Expeditionary Unit> apart of the 3/1 or 3rd battalion 1st marines, which is under the SOC or Special Operations Capable. This is quite basic stuff, If you 'Actually' served in the military for any given time, since its been used and indoctrined in 1900's. Also to varify any of these comments such as "13th meu is a bunch of pussies" etc.. your going to have to stop whining here. Due to the fact that our server is only liscenced and used for our discression only, now heres the bigger stumper here, It's only used for our purpous's so that it will be open to the public but only run under the legal justification that the server provider and PR group discloses to us. So in all essential it is NOT a free country to use our server so stop sending threatening messages that I have recorded on a file that holds serval names and IP's that state messages that are illegal.

[14:30:04] stumbledwarf -> fuck you
Thats an example, so keep it up, I'll keep it in my little black book. Those is the only one that isn't too graphic or holds too much profanity.

Driver in PR 0.6 is using tanks commander optics (it is called CITV as far as I remember). Why?
I prefered tank driver point of view in PR 0.5, it was more realistic.

Well, the lack of punctuation is conducive to snake doctor, but he didn't spell more than 50 words wrong in a 10 word post so I kind of doubt it was him.

In .6 there is no driver. You're the commander, but you also drive the tank (a real life commander would instead tell his driver where to go). It might be unrealistic, but so is having a tank with only two crewmen, and no commander (therefore noone to utilize the commander optics and maintain situational awareness while the gunner operates the turret).

Hmm... that sounds like reasonable explanation.

the one who make the thread .

why do you thing that he was banned?

Three banned individuals in one thread. Impressive.

In other news no night maps have tanks *yet* so having red or green thermal visioning is not an issue.

Thermal vision is also useful during the day, for greater contrast, etc.

But then, unless implemented properly (don't count on that, BF2 and all), it's not gonna be that much use in game.

Well, I was going to tell him why he isn't isn't the Marines, but since he's banned I'll have to settle with informing everyone else.

1. 1811 is the M60 Tank Crewman MOS. 1812 is the M1 Tank Crewman MOS.

2. There are no armored divisions in the Marines, only Armor Battalions.

3. While 3/1 is currently the Battalion Landing Team for 13 MEU, they're an infantry unit and have no organic armor assets. Any armor in 13 MEU would have to come from an armor battalion, probably 1st Tanks.

Nice try, do more research next time.

Night maps have absolutely nothing to do with thermal imaging gunnery systems.

We used our TOGS all the time in daylight - it is usually far easier to make out a glowing target due to engine heat at 1km that it is using just plain optics.
