Good teamwork tonight in several servers :)

Lately and especially tonight I have had the opportunity to work in very effective and teamwork oriented squads. We didn't win every time, but overall a better experience than the last few weeks.

Servers that were the best were the battle arena, and the Devil's Brigade.

Anybody noticed this lately, or am I lucky?

I think we're seeing the " 'Nilla Noobs " (not my term) filtering out from the .6 launch. Now its more of the core of players who like the team aspect and the difficulty (probably not the best term) that PR offers. So, overall, I think the whole team experience thing is back on the upswing though the loss of players means more empty servers during more of the day :(

Edit; Ah, where are my manners? Welcome to the forums!

Yeah, welcome to the PR Forums.

Glad you are noticing the teamwork on servers now. Pretty much as swift said really.

Although some maps still show up the noobs, such as Helmand with them driving the spawn cars right to the enemy. grrrr.

Here Here....always good squad work in the battle arena server....had a round last weekend where we took that bird with a full squad and were blowing up all the caches.....of course when I came in for a pickup at the oil tower section one of those haji ******** threw c4 onto the bird....that sucked.

It seems as the .6 hype has died, mostly the older PR fans are left ;)

Honestly I've had the best time in .6 playing on TB servers the last two days, great teamwork going on from new people.

Yeah seems like theres alot of people willing to learn. Unfortunately, as good as their intentions are, there are still some BF2 habits such as considering getting a sniper kit and covering you from 200metres away good teamwork. At least it's better then lonewolfing... or joining a squad named INFANTRY only to go get an APC or Tank and then act like part of the squad.

Other then stuff like that it seems to be goin well.

^^ I mostly agree with what you're saying except for the Infantry and APC comment. On large maps, there aren't always "armour" squads that are willing to give you transport. So even if I lead an Inf. squad, it can happen that I ask one of my squad members to bring an APC around for transport. Most humvees are taken by other squads and lonewolfs that drop 'em in the middle of nowhere without any possibility of future spawn. CMDRs are usually busy building assets away from the frontlines, so I usually have to rely on trusty APCs. In a way I don't see anything wrong with that since APCs are mostly used for Infantry personel anyways. As for tanks, well thats a completely different story.

had the best game ever with a few guys playing ejod and the street maps

the squad leader was really effective and made some good calls directing the infantry

it's a shame i forgot who he as, i'd want to play more PR with him some other time

Ok i probably had the best time playing PR when i was on the Tactics&Teamwork server. Was playing in a squad with [R-MOD]Masaq, he was the gunner in an Apache and i was in the middle of the desert spotting stuff. And eventually he got shot down or crashed, so we set up a RP in those mountains near South Village and requested HAT and AA kits :) Was great fun to shoot a chopter with my HAT kit from 500-600 meters.

I was the pilot of that apache, having infantry on the ground spotting and giving exact cordinates is pure gold.
our hour long killing spree ended when a sneaky mongol shot us down with a tank just for "lulz".

Yeah you guys did quite good :) i think Masaq had like 50 - 4 at the end of the round

PR N00bs field test:
Your first reaction when spotting an enemy that is engaging you is:
A) Do nothing
B) Stand up from cover, fire a few shots (enough to give away your squads position), Miss horribly, and get shot by a tank.
C) Run over your teammates with a truck.
D) Plant C4 on a wall that doesn't blow, then blow up 6 of your teammates
E) Accomplish all of the above in 4 minutes.

----

When this doesn't happen anymore...

I'll A) Be happy
or
B) Be in a box, because not in my lifetime...

:P

---

That said, when the squads work like a well oiled machine (a sniper providing LR squad support instead of wolfing)... grenadier and LMG for indirect/rapid fire support, the officer, LAT and Medic... That's a hell of a squad. Espescially when there are good players doing it :P

(but alas, too many of the first part o' this post :P )

GO PR!

That would require true skill.
