Voip Squads In HUD

Is it possible to add something to the HUD to refer the squad when making it to be a VOIP squad or not. So you don't have to waste space typing VOIP in the text box instead you can use it more to describe what the squads operation is.

For what it should be a very normal thing that every squad is a VoIP squad

OK, with some help we've figured this out.
All squads are voice capable. All players are voip capable if they buy a mic and the game is around teamplay where fast communication not merely a bonus but almost bordering on required!
The squad hopping kit request penalty is going to hit you if you have to keep hopping to find a friendly, voip squad, but the community isn't so big that you won't recognise usernames in squads and know they use voip,...over time!
note : we've all seen plenty of squads that have "voip" in the name but when you try talking to them there is no voip usage!!! The addition of a function like this is probably going to hit the hard corded limit and only really necessary as wall decoration.

Seems pointless as if the server is VOIP enabled all squads are voip squads.

Not exactly. I mean you can still have Alpha... or you name the squad whatever you want. But the SL that makes the squad should have the opportunity to show that he wants his members that join the squad to have VOIP. When he creates the squad there should be a option asking him do you want the squad to be VOIP oriented or not. If he picks yes there should pop up, a head with headphones icon next to the squadname. By this they that join know that the SL have VOIP. This is not ultimate but it will be a start for players to look for communication and will probably use it more as they know they will find players that will respond, than not having any describe to the squad, then everyone will go on their own instead of trying to play as a team.

SL's do. They politely ask the squad members to get certain kits to do something specific, then he raises his voice, then he screams, then he "manages squad"

The icon is there. If you have VOIP you click to disable the red cross. Or if possible make it as a option so it remembers if you have VOIP or not, so you don't have to click on it every time. Maybe the icon is not required for the squad. If you open the squad you will be able to see the player icons.

Is it possible to change the font for squad list? If it is some symbol could be changed to a headphone icon, question mark for example since it's newer/rarely used.

I would tend to agree but the reality is that there are so many squads that include VIOP in their name the need seems to be there.
Perhaps just box the SL checks.
If the original SL goes away and the new SL doesn't have a mic then he can uncheck the box and new players will know that SL does not have VIOP and so choose a squad that does.
Or, on the other side, new players w/o a mic can choose non VIOP squads where squad chat will be used to relay info.

I am completely against adding anything to the "HUD"
I am completely against even having a "HUD"
the "HUD" is a holographic representation of certain instruments on a small glass panel for use in fighter planes. "head up display"
our troops use no such thing.
and no, we don't use the halo style gps scrolling green text thing either.
ever notice, while playing halo (1) that the UNSC marines have a little scrolling green text thing? and that in PR we have scrolling green text too!!! oh golly gee WHERES MY MA5B? WHERES MY ROCKET LAUNCHER?!!!

Heheheh. I agree with the dev/mod/R-whatever they maybes, VOIP should be something that you should expect out of people. Plus it seems like something that'll take valuable time away from giving the P90 to the MEC Engineers...

It is. But not all value it. They will if this is implemented. You will see more with VOIP as it will be visually preferred.

It's a bit useless though, as far as I can recall you can still hop between squad when you join a game to see who's communicating and who's not. Anyway far more people are using it nowerdays (I'd say more use it then don't) and the number is still increasing.
