PR Servers?

I am new to this. I have some questions that most of you can answer I am sure.

1 – How does one setup a server for PR? Are most of the servers out there hosted by companies that sell gaming servers and a clan rents it or from individuals who have one in their home?

2 – If servers are from a hosting company do clans in general pay for them or does someone just dish out the dollars?

3 – Why would someone rent or setup a public server? What do they gain from it? Why not a private server for just their clan?

4 – What kind of connection at home would one need to setup a PR server?

5 – What are some worthwhile companies that rent gaming servers that you have had a good experience with?

Thanks in advance. :)

I don't know an awful lot but since to me no-one has replied in 10 hours, I'll give it a bash ;]

1. Most of the servers out there are hosted by companies that sell gaming servers and a clan rents it, AFAIK.

2. Usually in organized clans they will collect money from members. TG for example "Supporting Members" who pay a monthly fee and are given benefits. However sometimes I suppose if people really want their own server they can pay it themselves?

3. What do you gain from BF2? Whatever they want it for, they can lock it down and have it private for their clan if they so wish.

4. No idea sorry.

5. Depends where you want the server situated. I'm from UK so I have no idea what a good server company over there would be. Google is your friend.

Sorry I couldn't be more help :]
