I believe that the spotting button should be moved to another position on the commo rose in order to reduce the effectiveness of spotting spam. Currently, people hold down their commo rose button and look around. In the meantime clicking away in order to reveal enemy locations. This is neither realistic or fair. By changing the position of the "spotting" button it should significantly reduce the effectiveness of this technique as it adds an extra motion to complete before one can "spot".

I dont really get your point.
When you press ''q'' for the commo rose, you cant look around.
And I just like the system the way it is

he means that you shouldnt just have to press Q + LMB, but Q than position the mouse on "spotting" function in the como-rose (for example top right above "thank you") and than press LMB.
Basically put the "spotted" function anywhere but in the middle.

I understand the idea but I think that it would be just slightly harder to spam it.

I'd remove the 'Thank you' 'Need backup 'etc. as they aren't really useful and are just used by people, who can't communicate as a human being

Scenario: I'm a lazy trooper engaged in jungle warfare on OGT. I hear shots coming from a distant concealed position which are landing close by. Do I a) pull out my binoculars/SOFLAM and have a squizz or b) quickly spam the spotting button in the general direction to determine the size and exact numbers of enemy troops? A good portion of people when faced with this choice will pick option b.

If the spotting button was placed in ne of the diagonals of the commo rose it would be extra hard to spam. Selecting options which are not on the horizontal or vertical axis is somewhat harder to do. Alternatively, eliminating the LMB spot would be great as this would force the player to pick the appropriate enemy type to spot with the RMB and would significantly reduce the speed in which spotting could take place.

Brilliant idea.

You can spam "I need a pick up" just as fast as you can spam "enemy spotted" so i dont see a need in changing the commo rose
