TK with mines

Getting TK and punish for properly used mines is IMO unfair.
When a full APC drives over one friendly mine the driver is guilty at most.
With such a punishment i'll barely use mines anymore.
It's too bad about using mines at all.
Maybe its possible to "neutralize" the owner of a mine after 1 minute?
Or disable punishment for minekills at least?
In the current state mines are barely used (for above reasons) except unrealistically deployed directly in front of a tank.

punnishment is by the servers choice of settings, its accidental and people tend to put mines at the most redicilous places and when you drive 80mph you dont have time to stop.. boom TK, it just happens nothing can be done really as Friendly Fire needs to be turned on for IRL sake

yes, but for example in al basrah in the vcp there is always ppl who like to cross over friendly mine..why? because they want to get out vcp and dont care to punish a friendly for it, those mines are there for a purpose, protect both entrance (N and S entrance) of vcp from enemy vehicles and u cant drive there at 80 mph, so is imposible u cant see those mines in the entrance, but on the other hand outside vcp is another history...

Exactly this was the reason for my post...

Mines are cool, long live mines!
If drivers go so fast they can't see mines, etc and stop for them, then they are driving too fast!

A good way to use mines is to put them on paths your team doesn't need to use, so your team can focus on defending only one or two points, instead of all the bridges you just mined for example. It is also a good idea to deploy them on paths behind enemy lines.

If you put the mines where your vehicles go, then the enemy will drive through those pathways unhampered. Put them where they can be run over, then if you are a driver, use your brains and don't drive so fast that you can't see what is ahead let alone have time to stop for the mines.
If you are driving down the road in a city and a small child runs into the road following a ball, you cannot use the excuse "it shouldn't have been there" when you run over and kill the child. This analogy has been brought to you from the depths of Suicide Squad

or when driving, look for mines, look or listen for people telling u if they have and where theve planted mines, and (esp VCP) think about places that should be mined, and stay clear of them, like driving thru VCP is NEVER a good idea, go round the side

Can you tell me where the Fantasy Land server is. The server where everyone always uses common sense and never make mistakes. I agree with this topic. I refuse to use mines anymore. A vast majority of people (team-mates) run them over, then punish you or worse (depending on server) gets you kicked for a neg score.

^^^ i quite mining as well, if i take a engineer kit to help a tanker out i just dont lay them down, allways someone come flying in behind you to run over it. i have ran over them myslef & i forgive, but seems when i was laying them i allways got punished, LOL.
if possible drive off the main road, that helps sometimes.
i was crossing a bridge in tank this morning & seen the mine it was friendly, well it was by itself & i wanted too drive past so i turned to go around, i thought i was safe distance so i got blew up and i forgave, my question , exactly how far away do you have to be to avoid one?

Mines have turned the tide of many a battle I've been in online. You could not possibly deny their usage!

i can, i allways got punished
wishing well here (even though it wouldn't stop noobs & jerks from punishing) the red friendly mine marker (red crossbones), or some sort of way to know where friendly mines are like a mapp icon or something. just a wish.
when im in armour or apc driving i go slow, usualy stay off main roads if all possible, this kinda aggravates some people who want to get there fast, but its my electronic life & points so i look where im going even though sometimes it just hard to spot friendly & enemy mines .

same with slams really... i destroyed 2 enemy commander trucks with slams and got team kills in both because players would run into them... got kicked because of that.

Don't let fools discourage thier usage.
Remember:
they do have a defensive usage but don't block-in friendly vehicles
warn team
try to put in suspected enemy vehicle path (without it being a suspected path of a friendly vehicle)
and if they do run over it...it's their fault for being a bad driver and for not thinking properly about safety.

Its a crappy deal because even if the devs were able to somehow make it an option for friendly tks being forgiven as a server option for engis, then the jackasses who enjoy anarchy would go crazy with tk'ing on that server. We all know thats what would happen. I think the solution is for server admins to take off that God AWFUL "kicking for neg score" option. It is just plain stupid in this game.

LOL!
Hardly, ok so you can turn of TK punish but AFAIK youll still get minus points for the TK. You dont get any more minus points for the punish., that just goes towards any server configs IE: 4 punishes and your kicked.
Really its a stupidity issue..., theres no patch fix in this world for stupid players.

Any ideas how the use of mines can be made more fair regarding the point system?
Is it even possible to change anything in this regard, at all? DEVS?
