A temporary fix for the annoying graphical glitches

I don't know if It's posted but I thought I would share this with everyone. Every now and then PR does some crazy stuff like buildings looking warped, backgrounds having lines everywhere, buildings not visible but can't walk/shoot through them, etc. Anyway, I know of a way to fix this without restarting your game. Just hit ALT+TAB (Windows program switch) and let it minimize to your desktop. Once it's minimized maximize it or hit ALT+TAB again, all the graphical glitches should be fixed.

I'm not a software guy by any means but I believe this works because the problem has to do with a memory leak in the video card due to something in the PR code. When you ALT+TAB the game your forcing the video card to re-draw the environment, this is why it works. BF2 had a memory leak problem when it first came out and this was the temporary solution back in the day, just thought I'd share.

I think what your problem is is your video card is overheating so its artifacting, when you minimize the card probably cools down a bit so when you open it up again its fine.

Nope It's not the temp/card, I've checked the GPU temperature before when it did this, it was fine. Earlier versions of PR did this more often, with the latest PR update I rarely have this happen.

Lol, if I ALT-TAB, its gonna take 5 minutes to get to the desktop, and there is a 50/50 chance that I won't CTD when I ALT-TAB back into the game.

^Me too, then Vista changes back to Windows Aero, xFire conversations making it go way more slower. Etc..

I can alt+tab out of BF2 and back onto Windows with no problem. Like alt+tabbing Firefox, I'm running Windows XP 64-bit though.

Your problem is NOT a known bug.
Your problem is either hardware (broken or too hot sometimes)
or buggy drivers / messed up OS.

I've never had graphical glitches with PR.
Neither XP nor Vista.
8800GTS 320MB, 2GB RAM, OCed Athlon 64 X2 6000+, Vista.
And all my friends didn't have such problems too.
