I was thinking it would be nice if when you kill a SL you could pickup his kit, and get intel on the location of his squads RP?

What do you guys think?

it sounds good, but maybe not the exact location (your not interrogating the SL after all) maybe somthing similar to the way insurgency does it with the ammo caches like 75 meters to 100 meters of were the RP is? maybe a little less?

IMO this isn't really a good idea. It would promote spawn killing.

Not too shabby an idea.

As to spawn-camp promoting, I think any SL with half a brain would see the advantage of taking the RP out as opposed to sitting camping it.

There's always a few unscrupulous players out there though......

yeah same here, it works with civilians because the whole theory is that you "captured" the civilian that knows the whereabouts of a weapons cache, not the spawn car...

Yea but they are insurgents with spawn cars. SLs are setting up temporary bases of operations, so I jsut think that there should be some kind of link to them.

I dont know of many squads that "defend" their rally points the entire game, while the whole point of insurgency mode is to defend weapons caches.

Not directly maybe, but say your commander tells you to defend a certain point in say... Kashan. You would want to place that RP fairly close, and defend that entire area. So the attacking squads are going to be looking to cut off your supplies and reinforcements by going after that RP.

Also on Seven Gates, China is always on hte lookout for those RPs popping up in the woods north and south of the main fortification. The attacking British infantry are not directly defending their RP but in a way they are, because they have to keep pressure on the defense to keep them occupied. And no one wants to try and make that courageous sprint across the river with 10-12 Chinamen firing upon you from behind the walls.

ok,but how will killing them then taking their kits help you find the rally point?

The same way putting your teeth under your pillow at night turns it into money.

I really like this idea, I dont think spawn killing would be too much of a problem because it would probably be smartest fo the team who discoveres the rally to destroy it immedidetly so that the squad leader doesnt somehow sneak out after spawning there and set a new rally nearby.
If spawnkilling really becomes a problem then maybe a there could be a message at the top of the screen saying something like, "bravo squad, your rally has been discovered by the enemy!" this will give the squad time to retreat and set a new rally in a more secure position before they are attacked. This message could even be put on a timer so it appears a minute or so after the rally is discovered as to give the discoverer a chance for a surprize attack on teh rally.
If the squad moves the rally should the point still appear on the enemie's map? maybe the rally could only be shown on the person who picked up the squad leader's kit's map. that way the person who got the kit would have to communicate with the rest of their team to tell them the location of the rally.

There is already too easy to find rally points and to deploy new ones... you don't need intel for that just analyze the enemy movements and type of terrain and you will get those easy enough!

I would actually say that it would be best if you would have a delay on when you can deploy a new rally point after your old one was destroyed... that way people would think twice about the location of their current RP. re-enforcements usually take time to get to the battlefield.

You're killing the guy not questioning him. Presumably, having thrown your kitbags down into a rally point you're not going to mark on your map the location of all your stored stuff, but rather you'd remember the location?

The SL would probably have a tactical map? GPS?

RPs already have a radio sound and if you have more IQ than 10, you will find the RP after you notice the influx of enemy troops always coming from the same direction to you...

This would make RPs useless, because as soon as the SL gets killed, you're compromised...

No, I meant you have to get a couple SLs, not just one. Like, you kill one and you get a point towards revealing it, just like ammo dumps. Say 3-4 Sls and you will reveal one RP.
