Airborne Heavy AT
In a word, terrifying.
In a few paragraphs?

Having suffered it in the past, the airborne hatkit is a silly looking, but utterly deadly method, the tank is a bigger target from above than from the front or side, and they hardly move in a way that could be described as eratic.

In a littlebird you can pick and choose your fights, and with an engineer you can shrug off alot of threats.

Clearly, these can be seen as abuses, repairing a helicopter airborne alone is pretty startling in how much it can see a heli though (an PLA attack heli with a squad leader piloting and 2 engiees who can inturn respawn on him.

While tactical thoughtful teamwork is encouraged, the limits of the game can be pushed(i've yet to properly manage a bike mounted hat kill on kashan on anything bigger than a humvee) though.

What do people feel about these madnesses, do they belong in the game?

For me, its very much a game, and for me gameplay is about freedom of expression, if i wanted to be funneled into 1 gameplay type i'd play css, so when my helipilot squad leader hovers over an enemy tank, damn right i throw my c4 ^_^

I love this thread...great points all around to the OP, and damn right I throw my C4 TOO!!!!

But yeah I think the people that work together the most deserve to reap the benefits. Even though an engi and a HAT in a little bird would be seen as a little "greasy" to some people, I would run my *** off screaming "RUN, THEY'RE USING SUPERIOR TEAMWORK!!!!!!!!!!" as I get my back lit up with hydras. lol

Sounds fun. Even more fun, flying over a tank, and dropping an AT mine infront of him.

Man, haven't seen LBs with Heavy AT on sides since open beta. Why doesn't anyone do that anymore?

We used to use that tactic all the time on Muttrah. One of the few ways you could take down the AAA and live. Like the Force Recon motto; "Adapt, improvise and overcome". Use all of the tools at your disposal in new and innovative ways (so long as you're not
exploiting the game mechanics everything else should be fair game).

I think, and hope, that DEVs are going to do some stuff in PR .7 that would prevent this, like if you are behind HAT/LAT you will die etc, I hope it :p !

Shooting the L.B pilot is also very possible and when that happens you know the meaning of glorification.

I don't think it should be allowed, so I only play on TG server.

god the people on TG are such freakin whiners....bitching about hat sniping ALL the time, I don't even care that it's against the rules, it happens once and everyone freaks out...don't even get me started on "baseraping"....

I can see it now: the sky filled with Littlebirds packed with C4 and mine wielding engineers. As 'Ride of the Valkyries' blares in the background and the PLA troops below part in terror, they drop their deadly payload, decimating the enemy encampment! Seriously, someone should make a movie of people playing PR like that. :D

HAT on the dirt bike on Kashan works like a dream :) Me and a friend of mine did that a couple of times. Great fun

We actually have been working on a tactic like this with PELA in C5 (official tournament). The results haven`t been that bad.

The hat on a heli is no good, hopefully it will be pointless in future

Two eng on a heli is a waste, 'your doing it wrong' comes to mind

The c4 drop from a heli sounds tempting but that would require a fairly large failure by your enemy to protect their airspace and a 50 cal will wreck any heli in range
