Map Concept/Enforcing objective based play

Think of Albasrah.
A huge Urban area but with little outer area (maybe close it off with the desertion ..code) and have allied forces make an advance on the insurgent/terrorist/militia/HAMAS stronghold/city from a small checkpoint (with the assistance of transport vehicles - humvees/land rovers/Nyala). Of course save room for un-mounted infantry.
In the city are the weapons caches/intel/whatever.
I know the map idea concept is basically - if you think it's so good make it yourself but my idea is based more on trying to enforce game play and objectives rather than "I wish....".
Just an idea and I'd like to know are there flaws with it?
