tweaking/fixing/changing the outfits of MEC/US army

hey, i looked on the already suggested suggestions thread, but didn 't see this, so:
When im playing US or MEC, i really have to think alot about whether a soldier in the distance is friendly or enemy. This is because the suits of the 2 factions look nearly the same. I only can determine(after a few seconds) whether the soldier is enemy or friendly when i see the face, so basically i need to wait before he is looking at me( and while im examining him he might already be shooting me)
sometimes 'tactics' such as looking at the map if there is a friendly near me, on the spot of the soldier(if not it is enemy) , or spotting doesn 't work, especially at longer ranges. (DMR/ SR)
because when i spot a soldier in the distance with my scope or binoculars, it spots not exactly where i aim, but somewhere else,
it doesn 't transmit a sound on the radio, so i think it is a friendly. i have let slipped a lot of enemy squads this way(because i didn 't know they were enemy at that time).anyone experiences with this?
so could you guys think about changing the suits of the 2 factions, so it is easier to recognize who is who?

And did you found any similarities between the terrian's colour and the uniforms? There's serious intention in that. If you use your finger faster then your brains, you might get a TK punish.

of course i do. but it is very annoying to see a squad, not sure that theyre friendly or enemy, so you dont shoot at them. when you spot it doesn 't give a thing, more evidence it is friendly. then the only evidence theyre enemy is that when you are shot it doesn 't say
[..](teamkills) [superaki]

if the MEC suit would be more brownish it would be sufficient!
also please fix that you can 't spot at very long distances, this would be
a great improvement IMO ..

While it's still here, use it.

Big no to this one. It's project reality here, and in real life you would have trouble identifying friend from foe. Sometimes it's best to go with the old don't shoot until fired upon rule. Though the best solution is to have good battlefield awareness. Constantly check your map to see if friendlies are in your line of sight, spot infantry if you're not sure it's friendly or not etc.
On a technical note however, most player models look dark in the distance anyhow (draw distance issues) so unless you make them bright red & blue team you'll probably continue to have trouble no matter what. Also check your settings and adjust some of them to be higher if you're playing on low.

true, but i already have everything on high, 100% draw distance and 2x AA
maybe the outfits are not the issue, but spotting people in the distance fails alot, the minimap doesnt cover the whole map, and the big map takes 7 seconds or so to completely check out.. in this time you easily could be killed :S

So much fuss for a thread which's propably gonna get locked as soon as the authorities read it.
The uniforms has been reskinned to look camoflaged. MEC has darker outfit in vanilla, if anybody cannot take the stress of similarity he's free to play it.

1. spot
2. if 1 fails use minimap
3. if 1 and 2 fails hover sight over soldier and it will come up blue with there name if friendly
4. if 1 and 2 and 3 fail get another squad member to identify
5. if all else fails , dont shoot
6. if they shoot at you , shoot back. if its friendly then they *should* realise they fired fist and u defended urself.

Exactly, this is pretty much your first/last resort if you can't tell friend from foe. And if you use your minimap and still can't believe it, then get the hell out of there and regroup with your squad.

enemy spotted - if it comes up as a red dot, shoot. If it comes up as a ' ? ' dont shoot, only takes a second to do enemy spotted.

I agree. First spot if it comes as the question mark check mini map, if there only ? and no friendlies nearby, kill that *******. I would also add something between 4 and 5. Report to others from your squad via VoIP, especially your SL, and stay in cover. Sometimes some1 from your squad is closer to the enemy and can see better. Also your SL can decide either engage or not.

I agree with the OP. Having skins that are more difficult to tell apart has not enhanced my fun in PR. But anyways, to the OP, they know about this issue, they like it this way. The skins used to be easier to tell apart and they changed them on purpose to make them harder to tell apart, so your suggestion/complaint will get no consideration.

Shoot first ask questions later.
Or if you haven't got the time to check minimap or binoc or spot him just think about his position is it more likely to be a position of the enemy or friendly?
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Kitchen Gun... I mean M16 *****.

to the op, just keep playing. seriously i had this problem for a while, but now that ive been playing for a long time i can easily make out friend or for from a long distance. even from very far away there IS a difference between the 2 camos and only with practice and experience can you tell them apart. i like it, and i doubt it will be changed anyway.

I think its a little unrealistic.
Honestly, whenever an army has a similar uniform as the enemy, they change it as to avoid friendly fire.
This can easily be seen in many examples throughout WW1 and WW2, as well as various other conflicts. (with the emergence of camouflage like patterns)

The US Army will be wearing ACU when they are introduced. The current US infantry represented in PR is that of the USMC, so they should be (and are) wearing MARPAT uniforms.

Examples such as?
It was well before WWI that the British settled on Kahki and the Germans on Field Grey, if you're using that example. And the French had been using Blue since before the Napolionic wars.
I cannot think of one example where an army, in moderen times has changed its uniform because its pattern is too close to the enemy's.
Infact, I can think of at least one example where the opposite is true, the Russians found British DPM to be so effective the copied it as their "Smog" pattern.

its a reality mod lol. I kinda wish they would take the minimap away, (spot with tracers etc., maybe people will start buying mics) but thats another subject. just look, youll figure it out after awhile..faces, head gear, weapon and location and if they shoot at you shoot back
