Yeah it's probably the same deal as with the APC spawning problem. Why wouldn't the pilot use the doors though?

Do you mean like with a humvee, that if you would enter the right-rear door, you don't go to driver (#1), but actually enter the right-rear seat. Like in Crysis?

EDIT: and about a thread. Yeah, I think that would be nice if when exiting the merlin you would need to go thru the rear ramp or the side doors. Maybe do something like in osprey on training Kashan?

i like this idea.. maybe 1 thing more:
I dont like the merlin open side doors seats at all(looks unreal to me, when flying)
so my suggestion with it is: make seats in the chopper, with closed side doors,(something like a chinook)..

So when you open the doors you see 3 seats in the left side of the helo
and 3 seats in the right side of the helo .. hope you understand

Maybe make it so.. that if you get in the air the side doors goes closed automatic?
an the co pilot can only open it when they are below 10 mtrs or something..

I like the idea. Reduces the chances of getting sniped out and eliminates the need to turn the Merlin into a "Gunship." Too bad we can't fit more than one squad and two flyers in the vehicles.

Its a good idea in theory, just with the BF2 engine its hard to do

Though the entries to vehicles ( though lacking animations, which is a tedious task for BF2 ) are a lot better than nilla...

Id like to see the merlin door be used more honestly!

Last time I checked the internet is not the USA, freedom of speech on someones PRIVATE website is a privilege, and not only does discrimination go against that nice forum agreement you skipped past when you signed up for the forums.

Well, if the Merlin is getting some side MGs on the two doors, then the only reasonable entry point would be the back, just like on the Chinese transport chopper.

i think if you put mg's in it.. i dont wanna fly that baby anymore !!..

I think this chopper must be upgraded for troop transport not for being a hog ...
MG's in the doors? that going to be an hell of a firework? since everybody is firing those things for fun :S...
