Right, factions in PR. Just how many factions will there be in PR by the end of 1.0?

US Army
Brtish Forces
MEC
PLA
Insurgents
Militia
Canadian Forces
Polish Forces
Russian Forces
Israeli Defense Forces
Hamas
Taiwanese(?)
Dutch Marines(?)
"Peoples Militia"(?)

That's about 15 ± factions for PR. With this much factions and possible future factions, then the file size for PR is going to be huge . Not even Forgotten Hope for BF1942 had this many factions...

I think we are getting a little ahead of our selves here now, but yes im thinking PR will have many of these factions in only a couple more realeases. Filesize will be an issue, might have to start spliting the downloads up like FH0.7 was done in 3 downloads. Not all of us have super high downloads speeds, so one file one day another he next, it would be alot easyer if the file exceeds wll above 2GB to 3GB

Filesize don't matter, its only a one-time download and i have good connection.

Maybe you do, but as i said, not all of us are that lucky. i only get 160kb/sec, thats about 3 to 4 hours for the PR now. some people ahve worse conections than that.

But honestly, people with that a bad connection can spend a few extra hours on the download then.
Of course keep the download to a minimum, but don't trim down the game to suit the less fortunates impatience.

Im not saying tone down PR, just make seprate downloads for people with a bad conection. Like make a full download like now for people who like it, but make a set of downloads for others. there are some people who cant download more than a 1GB per month, so they cant even get PR now. thats all im saying, make PR availible to everyone.

Anyways, 1 big file shouldn't be a problem if it is a torrent because, depending on how many seeders, the download rate will just increase.

A download limit. Your ISP prevents you from downloading more than the amount that is specified in the contract you hold with them.

Anyways back on topic, OP some of the armies you highlighted in your first post are community projects so may/may not be in PR. Hopefully they will be. The one that surprised me was the Dutch Marines. Never thought of Holland being a major military force...

i have tried the torent before, and its not all that great when you get it too late, time diference prevented me from getting there when the seeds are high, so it still took over 3 hours to get it.

But its only 1 time download. Even if u have to spend a week downloading it, you gonna be a happy user for months if not longer. I have a bad connection as well (can download at 130), but im not concerned, cause I know its gonna be worth it.

And even if u cant do it cause you ISP prevent you from downloading a lot, Im sure that you can post your problem here, and someone will be happy to burn and send you a DVD with downloaded PR if asked properly. Its not EA! We're all people here

Im not saying anything about long download times, i dont mind waiting 5-6 hours for a download to come, i got plenty of other things to do than sit at a computer all day. im jsut saying for other people who dont share your own view points. that would like to download in seperate parts, thats all.

And the file size is not a problem at all... those guys who have such a bad internet that they can download only 1GB per month should think about getting a better and faster one. 1GB per month... thats embarrassing!

The size is really not a problem. How already said.. just make a Multi Part Download and everything will be good!
