-its plugged all the way not hanging half out
-my hearing part of the headset still works

the other day i was messing with my Teamspeak2, but i dont think thats it, because i use Voip for BF2, Just Kidding!!!! LOLZ, BF2 hehe..

Don't use AOLism's, and try to talk coherently. Your VOIP is probably messing up cause you don't know how to talk the correct way. Work on using capitalization and proper grammar.

Since you replied to his post and read it, then I see no problem here...

I'm reading "My Name is Asher Lev" and I'm bored as a mug. Can't wait to get back to PR. Try restarting your computer for the VOIP problem, or make sure you didn't disable your mic.

Perhaps he reformatted his computer and is just beginning to reinstall BF2/PR.

Once a night I lose all my voice communications, meaning both TeamSpeak and in-game VOIP. It's fecking annoying and I have no idea why it happens. The only way I can get it back is by restarting my game.

Check that your mic is not mute (sometimes the checkbox appears checked for some reason, even if you didnt check it explicitly). You can also try the mic boost option (all this is done outside of BF2/PRM).

If you can talk through the mic, and hear yourself while at it, then the mic is working fine. You should also check the port where you're pluging it into. In my last PC, I had to plug the cable 'nicely' because if I pressed it too hard the mic wouldn't work properly.

This post helped me (can't find it, but I got a copy of it)
JohnnyPissoff wrote:I have the exact same mic you have Iron and it works perfectly.

- Open Play control (double left click on your speaker Icon on your task bar)
- In play control go to the options tab (far left top) and click properties make sure your set for playback.
- Look down to see if the microphone box is checked and click ok.
- Then at the main play control screen again, make sure the box "Mute" is checked under the microphone setting (yes I did say mute the mic. It only effects play back not your ability to speak)
- Make sure volume slider is up to at least 50%
- Then click advanced and check the +20db boost.

One last thing just to be sure:
- Right click on that speaker Icon and select adjust audio properties.
- Under the Audio and the voice tabs, make sure your device (sound card) is the one that your machine uses.
- You can trouble shoot your hardware and drivers at the hardware tab.

I hope this helps and also saves you some money on returns.
H3eadshot wrote:Do dxdiag and then to the sound tab. In Direct X features turn the acceleration to 'None'. Worked for me.
I use TS and VOIP - ALOT - just ask those brave few who actually dare to squad up or don't kick me, so this happens alot.

• First, do as Johnny says. BF2 finds it a sport to mute my microphone.
• Second, if that doesn't work, try switching to line-in. OK - close - open, switch to microphone again.

As long as I'm not loading a map I can ALT-TAB and do this in-game. To see if my microphone is working again I usually go to Start-Programs-Accessorise-Entertainment-SoundRecording.
If you see it recording your beautiful voice, then everything is ok again. Go back to game. If not, just fiddle back and forward with the options Johnny and I point at and voila - it will work again.

By the way, you wouldn't happen to have a Soundblaster card, now would you?

Go to "Run" in your Start meny and type in "dxdiag". Then go to the sound tab and set the soundacceleration on basic. That worked for me

Not to rain on your parade but I believe I covered that in my post? Direct rip off from H3eadshot?

You need to reduce your directx down to basic. Here is how:

Start> Run> "dxdiag"

Go to the sound tab. Under DirectX features, move it down to basic acceleration.
One handy PM, I'll never delete. :)

Yeah, but if he has a Soundblaster that dxdiag trick ain't gonna help him.

I used to have the problem were it would randomly mute my mic with my creative labs live 5.1 and then i put it on my room mates machine and it did the same. So i spoke to a freind who has the live 5.1 and his does the same so i assume its a card, i have not had it happen with my audigy 2

There is a thread on Creative where they explain. Nothing wrong with the card. Problem is, there are multiple functions on the card (don't make me remember details) and BF2 does not like that - so it just "mutes" the thing cold.

It's like somebody got this idea: "Hey - look! It can do two things! We won't have that - quick, manipulate the settings! No! Not the game settings you twat! Their audio settings in general! YEAH! Screw you for getting an advanced card!
