Grenadiers

Grenadiers really aren't lethal enough to be a limited class; at this point, there's little reason to choose a grenade launcher over a scoped rifle and some old-fashioned hand grenades, as the aiming reticule takes time and practice to use accurately.
That said, there should be an Assault spawn class with a rifle/grenade launcher (with perhaps 1/2 the grenade supply of the limited Grenadier kit, but a single White Phosphorus incendiary grenade), binoculars, a field dressing, and body armor.
I'm not sure about the launched phosphorus grenade, but everything else about the kit seems balanced enough to be available at spawn, as long as a more powerful limited Grenadier kit is still available.

You don't know how to use the 203 if you think that. It's limited for a good reason, just use more of the grenades instead of saving them and you'll see why it's limited. Get a good spot by a humvee and launch them into an area like a mortar and no in the area can move.

The assault class already has ammobags so in effect they would become more effective then conventional grenadiers and on top of that they have scoped rifles.

I'm pretty sure that eventually usmc, pla, mec and china will have scopes on their grenadier kit.

Yes, they will. It was confirmed with a "

" in an other thread.

Yes and the kit also needs some training to use. U cant just run out there and use it like it should be. Practice on a LAN server and you will see how much better you get.

Obviously you haven't seen 0.5 gameplay, where people ran around with GL enabled and shot 203s at each other, because it was easier then shooting them with bullets.
Half the deaths, you'd had in 0.5, were from grenades or AT rockets.

You need a lot of practice but after that you will see that grenadier is lethal enough. All you need is to use it in the right way.

And pasfreak, I suggest you change your attitude.

Just be thankful they havent taken away medic and engineer yet! What you guys wanna run around with 4 variations of rifleman with semi abilities of the class they supposed to replace? Hey it could happen when this mod passes the next realism barrier.

Engineers and medics are here to stay I'm afraid. Specops is not.

I know but maybe one day you might just remove the defribs from medics and at mine/c4 from engy's.

Can you take out an enemy squad with 1-2 shots from your assault rifle? Nope..
Can you do it with the GL? Yup..
Oh and Outlawz, grenadier wasnt the default kit in 0.5. AT was

Atleast for insurgens

Ya once in 0.5 i had my squad get this loadout.
1 Riflemen
5 Naders
We got on a roof near Faclity and shelled teh place to hell till a RPG took out 5 guys. Then the last guy died after due to not seeing where he was going and falling off the roof.

Well, I played 0.5 and I sure as hell didn't see it on the request kit list.
Light AT and Grenadier was a default, unlimited kit for every faction, meaning you could spawn with it, creating zergy AT/noob tube squads everywhere.
Maybe you only played .5 Al Basrah?

GL should be limited, the thing rips squads appart and is one hell of a scare for advancing enemies. I use it constantly and I love it. Making it a default would make it too bloody powerful and easy to own with.
Just don`t fire it right after running and so. Take careful aim before fireing.
Now RPG imo should be a regular class for the insurgents. They were just so bloody awesome and making them pick-up sucked all the fun out of being an insurgent.
