Trigger IED while in Binocluar view

OK, I did search...
My suggestion is that a way be found that IEDs can be remotely triggered while in binocular view.
That way you can plant the IED and withdraw to a safe distance before setting it of, but you can still observe if the enemy are near the ied.
what do you think?

i love it, however ambushers don't have binocs at the moment.

i would say a team of two could do that just fine. one spotter, one clicker.

In the past, when you had a class with both an IED and binoculars, you just waited until the right time, then switched between the two. It's not like it takes ages...also, I very much doubt whether this would be easy/possible to script.

Hard coded i think? Logically it should not be possible for a weapon in one slot to be fired by a weapon in another slot.

you are right, the devs got the same problem with weapons sharing ammo, if we had ammo sharing we could have different scopes and stuff on our rifles instead of only one. but sadly we can't get our hands on the source code )

Why not do something like what the C4 has? Where if you place the C4 down it switches to the detonator, so you can have it like
Binoc's
C4
Detonator
When you place the C4 it switches to your detonator, and when your at your detonator you can right click to switch to binoculars.
So, Pull out binocs > right click to get the C4 > Place > Pull out detonator > right click to pull out binoc's > left click to trigger.

yep. It's very easy to do with 2 guys.
And then you also have 1 guy to cover you when you go and place the IED and you can also resupply from his ammo bag. So it's definitely usefull to have 2 guys instead of 1.

I like the idea too.

Don't just say it's hard-coded if you don't know
How about a macro/script that would quickly switch and blow it up?

What's wrong with just hitting the key for the IED and clicking your left mouse button? I really doubt whether the minimal improvement this would bring would be worth the trouble.

hmm... OPK has that with their G36C with and without silencer, both using the same clip...

It's not as easy to time this way. Hitting a land rover moving at high speed, taking into account lag, using as landmark because you're too far away to see the IED, is a difficult task.
If it's possible I'd definitely want to see this implemented.

If you're going to blow things up from afar with IEDs, have the decency to be close enough to dance on their bodies!
Joking aside, this has never been a *huge* problem for me... and I'd suggest maybe the following option instead:
- you know how when you finish using all your grenades, bandages etc it switches back to the weapon you last used before? Well, if binos could do something similar, so that whenever you removed them (i.e.: right clicked whilst looking through them) it automatically selected your next weapon, that'd maybe make it a bit quicker - you'd be able to right click to remove your binos and select your C4, and then immediately left click to detonate.
Plus it'd work for other weapons too - you'd be able to select which weapon you wanted to return to by switching to it prior to selecting your binos, then use your binos. Bingo, right-clicking would return you to the weapon you were using previously.

would it be possible to replace the detonator view with a zoomed view?
It would mean you can only detonate while zoomed... but might be easier to do.
