I'm new to the PR Forums here.

I'm currently downloading the Mod.

I'm actually looking forward to playing with people that will be willing to teach me the ropes. I'm semi new to FPS. I haven't played a First Person Shooter since the release of UT 2003 (or is 2004?).

At any rate. Just a side note about myself. You won't ever hear me in Teamspeak or Vent. I'm a Mute I was in an accident 3 years ago (3 years 1 day to date) where the accident left me in pretty bad shape, and I had major damage to my Larnx which rendered my voice box useless. So I'm a Mute. I can hear, I just can't speak. So be looking for a text reply someplace.

I understand if this effects your choice to allow me to be a part of your community, it has other places. I can accept that.

Danya Lynn.

Hmm hope you type fast. Welcome to the community anyway. You should have a great time once you get the mod but make sure you read the manual!! Read some of the tips and hints threads as well. Most of all have fun and see you on the battlefield.

The good thing with Battlefield 2, is the Audio commands, Page up key, Page down Key. Hold Q down, cycle your mouse to the prompt you want.

And yes, I can type very well. As well as listen to instructions which is the key to any part of a team.

As a HTML guru for Phillip Morris that is all I do. Type code, data bases things of that nature.

Welcome to PR. I'm sure you will find the community understanding.

You will come across lots of VOIP or VOIP only squads. And in these you normally find the best teamwork and fun. But in my experience as both grunt and squad leader.. it is far more important that you can hear and follow orders than talk.
Dont be put off joining these squads, but do explain that you understand the squad leader and are willing to take orders. This is the best way to learn PR, its all about teamwork.

Have fun and i'll see you in the field ;)

Welcome to PR. There are some excellent manuals and guides around, and the community is friendly. And if they're not, they'll regret it. *nudge nudge*

Like I stated in the above reply, I always use the Page up and page down keys as audio prompts to acknowledge orders. As well as the Q key then cycle the mouse to what ever I need to relay.

Me being a Mute just means I can't yell at you :P actually can't yell at anyone but my Middle finger works great!

And I'm from Richmond VA.

Do you use sign language then? My sister tried to teach me it (she learnt it on a course for helping with disabled people) but all I can say is "jesus loves you", "wings" and "fruitcake"...

Yes I sign, when other people know how to read sign.

Welcome and enjoy PR!

Sorry to hear about the accident, but not having a mic won´t matter, teamwork is the key.

I have a mic, but it doesn't do me much good when you can't physically speak.

Welcome! When I'm a SL, the main thing is that my squaddies do what I tell them, and that they are able to play as a team. VOIP is just a bonus, it's not needed. (In most situations anyways) :-)

welcome danya...

being a mute is no problems, sometimes i wish certain players would be mute **ahem desertfox**

but anyways if you join a VOIP squad just be sure to be responsive on text chat and almost all squads will have no problems with you being there!
